Given warm homes discount can I now move to a cheaper supplier and take the credit with me??

Hi,

I have qualified for the warm homes discount which has been applied to my account so I am £100 in credit. If I find a cheaper supplier can I just switch as normal and take the credit with me??

The credit cannot be transferred to another provider, you would have to apply for it again at your new provider.

But that doesn't stop the credit balance being returned when the OP changes supplier, just as with any credit balance.
Reapplying next season is not what the OP was asking.

if you change supplier and there is credit on your account then it should be returned to you when the final bill is made up. It wont be transferred to you new supplier, it will credited to either your bank account or as a cheque.

Sorry its my mistake i misread as you was asking solely about the discount and not the account balance, as others state the balance would be refunded to you.

OP, as soon as the WHD is on your account, it's yours, you don't have to stay with the supplier for x days to retain it.
But you will need to reapply should you change suppliers.
