I am wondering what to do about the fact that Energy Club are showing my annual usage as £200.00 more than I calculate it to be. They have emailed me saying I could save about £150.00 , best switch worked out to be Pure Planet. Hence I started the switch, then when I scrolled down the page , I saw Pure Planet pop up again…

Re switch
Hi Guys, need a bit of advice please. With Scottish power. The gas/elec in our house is registered in my wife’s name, and I added my name so I could deal with it all, on the phone etc. The a/c is not in joint names. I deal with everything, wife cannot be bothered:) The reason I put it in wife’s name was for I’d, proof of…

Electric Distribution Company have no plans of my cables
Hi All, I have contacted my electric distribution company to move my meter as it is in the kitchen hidden away in some cupboards. Was told I'd have to pay in excess of 1.5k - which i am reluctantly going to pay if the work does go ahead. A member of their team came down for a site visit, turns out there is no trace of…

Stay away from Spark Energy
Spark Energy installed a Smart Meter on 19th October and my bills suddenly increased three times. I called them several times and wrote them emails but they do not care. Their answer to me is that I am probably using more energy! I am already with this company for two years, and I have the same lifestyle. How could be…

My Gas Meter Reading - Help with working out total cost (KWH) please
Hi Guys, I've just been stung by a massive bill from Npower which they classed as a 'catch-up' bill. I can't quite believe how much they are saying I now owe (over £1,000) last month I was only £220 in debt on my account! With this in mind I want to work out my total gas consumption and cost myself since I moved over to…

Changing from prepay meters to bills
I am currently with BG on dual fuel on prepay meters. I have tried to change to a credit meter so I can pay DD but have been refused based on credit score. The only negative on my score is that I am not a British citizen but BG will not let me swap based on this. So they basically keep me on a more expensive meter against…

Air Source Heat Pump Advice
Good evening all, There are several threads on ASHPs on this site and I have read all of them I think. End of Tariff soon, switching help
Hi everyone, I’m currently with Avro Energy, use around 2000kw gas & 5800kw elec and pay £51 per month. Tariff ends in 4 weeks and we’re currently £70 in credit, so I’m estimating to be owed around £30-£40 at the end of contract. Renewal price has come through at a hefty £59pm, an increase of roughly £100, or 20% on the…

Yearly review bill {Edited by Forum Team}?
Received my quarterly which takes into account energy used from September - December. I paid that in full. Then I received another bill which is from December - January. It had been estimated, so I telephoned EDF with meter readings, but my initial reason for phoning them was to ask why I had received this extra bill. The…

Hi, I am looking at switching from BG as they are not the cheapest anymore for me and my tariff contract is now up. I have just tried to do this via a comparison site switching to Lumo I think it was and they said they can’t because I already have a smart meter, even though the contract states that I have to have one…

Very high gas bill in new home
Just received my gas bill and it seems extortionately high. Spoke to neighbours with similar size house, windows, insulation etc... and appears to be 3x as high. House only uses gas for central heating / hot water and gas hob. Where do I even begin to work out why this is happening?

Boiler temp in vacant house
Any suggestions on what temperature a Combi boiler should be set at if the house is vacant for an extended period? I’ve googled that the house temp should be kept at at least 13c, but there’s no room thermostat and so am just having to set the boiler temp. I’m doing trial and error at the mo, but would prefer to know the…

House showing as having non-domestic meter
I have just tried to compare my energy tariff on a few different sites and as above my house is showing as having a non-domestic meter. I am currently with boost and have smart meters installed, but surely my property shouldn't be registered in this way Has anyone else had the same issue?
