Extra energy/scottish power take over issues
Apologise if this has already been covered. I was an extra energy customer whose contract ended at the end of November just at the time they ceased trading. Ofgem advised at the time not to swap supplier at that time and wait for scottish power to sort out accounts etc. Which I did, they issued me with an account number…

Getting credit/final bill after a takeover?
So, I changed my electric supplier a few months ago to get a better deal. Unfortunately, the supplier I changed to (Sparke) when in to administration a few days after my switch application…. To take matters worse, the “old” supplier (Extra Energy) also went into administration round that time. My old supplier has been…

OFGEM has appointed Utilita as SoLR for Our Power Customers
OFGEM has appointed Utilita as Supplier of Last Resort for Our Power Customers. I’ve never heard of Utilita and all I’ve found out so far is that they're a lot to do with prepayment meters, of which I don’t have. As an ex-Our Power customer I’d be very interested to hear any feedback on Utilita Energy Ltd.

Solar BuyBack
Hi, Has anybody used the Solar Buy back solutions company. Selling your feed-in-tariff. They are offering to buy the feed in tariff and I would still get free electricity from generation but no the drip feed as they give you a lump payment. Has anybody any experience with this? Does it effect the value or ability to…

British Gas problems (again!!)
Hi all, Following on from a thread I started a while ago, my bank reduced my credit card limit last week on my account. I had a check on my credit file and noticed BG have set me up two DD accounts (fine), however, also there is another electricity account which has an outstanding debt of £175 which I apparently haven't…

Switch
Hi, we just changed supplier a couple of days ago. We had a smart meter on prepayment mode and now its turned to credit mode, which we expected. Its a secure smart meter and we expected it to go dumb after the switch. However it all reads exactly as it did. We were on 2 different tariffs previously for electricity and the…

DRO and accidental payment on closed account - could I get this back?
A bit more complicated than the title suggests... As I'm unemployed/disabled and only getting ESA-WRAG I can't afford to pay my electricity bill as they simply got too high. Things like prepayment meters, payment plans, and fuel direct are not options in my situation so the only option was to deal with this via a Debt…

Storage Heaters, Immersion Water Heater and how to save money?
Hi, I'm on ecotricity E7 (11.85p per unit), there's no gas supply in the property, only electric. There's 3 storage heaters, one is switched off at the wall permanently. One is turned down to medium as it's in the bathroom an the other is up about 3/4's the way to full power as it's freezing right now. We've got a water…

NPower Bill Issues
Has anyone ever had any issues with NPower converting their readings from cubic feet to cubic metres when in actual fact the readings are already given in cubic metres? We're 2 adults in a 3 bed semi bungalow and our latest bill shows we're £280 in debt in 2 months! However we weren't even in the house for a month of that…

removing gas meter
we have had an electric boiler fitted and no longer required gas in the property. We are on a dual use tariff with edf energy paying the standing charge for gas ( 0.25p per day ). I have rung to request the removal of the gas meter to avoid payibg the standig charges and advised it's £80 for this which is fine. however edf…

Cancel direct debit & use account credit
Hello. I have built up a fairly large credit on my Npower account. I recall somebody mentioning that if you cancel your DD the payment will come straight out of the account credit. If I do this i have about 3 or 4 months without paying from my bank account. I'm aware this may mess with the annual amassment but I'm planning…

SSE THTC Monopoly
Beginning of December 2018 I moved to a 3 bed bungalow in Argyll and Bute with electric mat underfloor heating, immersion hot water, 1 electric shower and 2 electric towel rails (all THTC, I think). I have 2 meters a standard tariff and a cheaper 24/7 Total Heating Total Control (THTC) tariff and SSE Hydro supply the…

FIT payments/solar panels
Morning all, We've recently switched from British Gas to Octopus for various reasons, mainly because BG customer care is/was rubbish and reviews of Octopus are great. So far, so good, but what we've just found out is that Octopus doesn't do FIT payments at the moment and they have advised us to find another supplier that…

Backbilling...
We have lived in our flat for 18 months, paying our energy bill monthly depending on what the Powershop app told us we owed. In December we rang to make a small query about our account and they asked for a meter reading as they admitted they should have been out to get one but hadn't. They then announced we owed them an…

Eon v7 Tariff
Been looking for a decent switch from Avro which was quite cheap, didn’t find anything that really stood out, then when I try an up to date comparison today, it comes up with eon v7 fixed 12 months which is by far the best I’ve seen. Anyone else switched to this ?

Paying for wrong meter
I have been in my flat 2.5 years - had a smart meter for 6 months. As much as people dislike smart meters this one helped me notice inconsistencies with my electric usage and usage displayed on the smart meter. Today an electrician from First Utility came to check and said I've been paying from the wrong meter, which is…
