EON bill HELP please

Hi I am new to the group so apologise if I have posted this in the wrong place.
I got a 1 bedroom flat on a 6 months contract I was with Eon for both gas and electric and I paid £32 month for both by dd. I work 11 hours a day sleep 6-8 hours and it was my 1st flat. So all I had electric wise was a tv, xbox, fridge, kettle lighting and a microwave. my gas was water & heating. I left the flat after the 6 month contract was up sent Eon the meter readings and got a final bill saying I now owe £834 for my gas and electric (bare in mind i have paid 32 a month for 6 months) it says i have used elec 2573 units and gas a shocking 14011 units. Surely this cant be right. I have called eon to question it and they say It was the previous tennants final reading that was estimated so thats why there is so much usage and it is my bill... I gave eon my meter readings when I first moved in and they have lost them. is there anything I can do I cant surely owe that much money I dont know what to do thanks in advance

If you can't come up with those meter readings then you are pretty much stuffed. If you had submitted monthly reads and asked for bills this would have flagged up at the first bill. There is only one person who is going to ensure you are billed correctly and that is you.

they (eon ) came out and did a reading 2 months ago i have asked the landlord for readings and they said its a smartmeter so all readings are directly sent to Eon but Eon are saying they are not.

it was my 1st flat and It was all new to me i was told by the landlord that I dont need to submit readings because it is all smart meter.. even if i do still have the readings from when i first moved in they are not likely to take my word for it now. i guess im pretty stuffed :/

If this a Smart meter installed by Eon you may be in with a chance. But if was installed by another supplier then no chance.

Look at your bills - is there a letter A (for Actual) against the readings ?

Put it on imgur and then put the link on this thread replacing the ".'s by the word dot/.

Make sure you blank out your personal details - name, address
