Backbilling...

We have lived in our flat for 18 months, paying our energy bill monthly depending on what the Powershop app told us we owed. In December we rang to make a small query about our account and they asked for a meter reading as they admitted they should have been out to get one but hadn't. They then announced we owed them an extra £1800 and that our monthly bill on Economy 7 WITHOUT any heating on should be £120 per month.
Using Citizens Advice and the backbilling law we have got £550 knocked off, since they have literally never sent us a bill.
Is there anything else we can do? We have asked them to check our meter for faults etc and they said they would by Christmas. Still nothing despite reminding them. They also admit they had thought they'd rang us for meter readings or that they should send people out every few months etc but that our file shows noone got round to it. They say this £1200 (approx) needs paying off in 6 months which is impossible for us anyway, but especially when you consider that our bill will now be £120 anyway! Bearing in mind that's us living living without heat in the weather the north of England has had, it's been dire!
We are waiting for them to confirm a payment plan now but they are still saying it needs to be over 6 months AND we need to pay our 'normal' £120 a month bill, too. I am already on a DMP with Stepchange...any ideas on ways we can argue they should knock more off?
