FIT payments/solar panels

Morning all,

We've recently switched from British Gas to Octopus for various reasons, mainly because BG customer care is/was rubbish and reviews of Octopus are great. So far, so good, but what we've just found out is that Octopus doesn't do FIT payments at the moment and they have advised us to find another supplier that does offer them. I'm trying to find out whether there is a company who will offer FIT payments without us having to cancel our switch to Octopus, or whether British Gas will continue to give us payments without us doing anything. I'm reluctant to contact British Gas for obvious reasons!

Has anyone else had this problem? We've thought about buying a solar energy battery, but blimey, they're not cheap.

Here is a list of all the companies.

I am with Good Energy for FIT, but Zebra Power for ordinary energy. Good Energy are very slow payers, but you get it in the end. Look on the websites to see who will take you.

You can stay with BG for your FIT payments.

The contracts for electricity supply and FIT payments are independent of each other.

When we had Solar PV installed we were with EDF for our electricity, so registered with EDF for our FIT payments. Since then we have switched electricity suppliers 3 times, but are still with EDF for FIT (because they are so prompt with the quarterly payments).

We are with Octopus for electricity now and find their customer service excellent. The Octopus GO tariff is ideal if you have an EV.

    Yep, same as above.

We were with nPower when we had the panels fitted 8 years ago.

We've had several different suppliers since then, but the FIT has remained with nPower. I must admit they have been very prompt with payments and always pay within one week of me submitting my quarterly FIT reading.

You don't switch FIT payments payers, that will stay with BG.
