Changing electricity supplier, with a twist
Hi gang, I'm currently on pre-pay key meter* with EDF, but would like to be on a smart meter. Is it possible to change suppliers, in order to get this expedited? I've no inclination to stay…

I got it for £40....However after a bit of research, it's turned out to be a Flir One (Generation 2) Thermal Camera! that DIYers…

New home smart meter woes
I currently have no heating and no hot water. Moved in two weeks ago and found out through Northern Powergrid that the last supplier was British Gas for both gas and electric meters. Duly set up an account with BG for payment by DD. Got the gas meter uncapped and all hunkydory. Yesterday afternoon the boiler stopped…

My smart gas meter died a year ago
We have just discovered that our 10 year old smart gas meter has not been working for some time and that the pushbutton does not bring up the display. I assumed that, after 10 years, the battery simply needs changing as the installer had told me that these had an approximate 10 year battery life. Looking back at the bills…

MSE Cheap Energy Club says my switch to AVRO has been declined.
The end of my one year fix with AVRO coincided with the MSE Cheap Energy Club's release of their "Simple & MSE Collective" 18 month fix so I signed up for it. Like many here I got TWO emails from AVRO confirming the deal: one saying it was a variable tariff then one correcting this to an 18 month fix. AVRO moved me on to…

British Gas PT5 Thermostat
Bit of a long shot, but does anyone have a British Gas PT5 thermostat? My mum has moved into a house with one and various people have tried to set the times for her - whatever anyone does though, it consistently comes on in the middle of the night and she's getting stressed about the cost of it. I've had a look online for…

extra energy bust
Is there anyone else out there with Extra Energy? I read quite a large article in the Mail On Sunday, saying it was predicted that 1 in 7 of the smaller energy companies would go bust, because of the green taxes they owed, Extra was one, owing nearly 15 mill. Spark was another, I almost changed to them, but their customer…

bulb started at £61 now asking for £129
i gave them our annual usage when i was looking to switch. they quoted £61 a month. been with them about 4 month. they are now saying it needs to go up to £129. That seems quite a big increase and seems unfair since we are not using any more energy than last year.
