MSE Cheap Energy Club says my switch to AVRO has been declined.
Options
The end of my one year fix with AVRO coincided with the MSE Cheap Energy Club's release of their "Simple & MSE Collective" 18 month fix so I signed up for it. Like many here I got TWO emails from AVRO confirming the deal: one saying it was a variable tariff then one correcting this to an 18 month fix. AVRO moved me on to the new tariff the very same day I applied for it despite the Club website stating that the switch would take several weeks. (So AVRO got an extra 6 weeks of the higher new tariff so be warned!!). I have been billed on the new tariff and their website confirms that I am on the Club tariff.
HOWEVER, today I received an e-mail from the MSE Club informing me that the energy supplier had DECLINED my switch. And the Club website shows me as being on AVRO's "Simple Energy" tariff. I have not received anything from AVRO to this effect. So can someone on the Energy Club team please take a look and see if my switch has been confused with someone else's, is this a computer glitch or is something else going on??
Please??

Many thanks, Hengus. When you say "email us at"... does that imply you are staff or a voluntary moderator or something??
I have copied the post to the Club as advised and will wait with baited breath!0 -

Err no. I have just copied and pasted what is at the bottom of the MSE CEC Home Page. FWIW, I doubt that any one could trace your profile with the information given in your original post. Bear in mind that MSE CEC is just a referral site that passes on your request to switch along with your profile details.
Finally, the ‘several weeks’ does not relate to the switch itself. It is the time that it takes for the supplier to confirm that the switch has gone through along with the referral payment which CEC shares with you. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Thanks again to Hengus for the Cheap Energy Club email which I still can't find at the bottom of the MSE CEC Home Page. I got an immediate acknowledgement email from them and a promise of a reply in two working days. True to their word I got an email today so a pat on the back from me for that.
They claim that AVRO had notified them that the switch had not gone through when in fact it has and is still confirmed in my account on the AVRO website. CEC have amended my status on the CEC website and say that they have asked the cashback team to look into the matter and will get back to me.
Could it possibly be that AVRO are trying to avoid paying CEC their referral payment or am I being too cynical??
FWIW AVRO have had no difficulty in taking my increased DD for this month!! Strange that!0 -
Just got my November statement which still shows me a on the Simple & MSE Collective tariff so everything is as it should be. Likewise on the AVRO website for my account. So now just waiting to hear from the CEC Cashback Team who are investigating why AVRO told them that my switch had been declined.0
