Changing from British Gas
I have just emailed british gas as follows:Some complaints a) why was it necessary to have an interim bill, and why to two DIFFERENT dates for gas and electricity ? why were the estimated amounts far too high ? b) why does the "final bill" not include electricity ? why does it not include dual fuel discount ? why does it…

Locked in to British Gas for life - Meter numbers do not exist?
I have been with British Gas for 10 years. I have tried to move from British Gas 3 times over the last few months all without success. I've tried EON, NPower and Co-op. All 3 are unable to take me because they say my meters do not exist and refer me back to British Gas. My home is a 5 bedroom detached on a normal housing…

How much juice is my dehumidifier using? Is it expensive to run?
I just wondered if they were expensive to run or not. Set it up in the morning, took a meter reading: 65097/3 Returned in the evening with it having been the only electrical thing that was on. Checked the meter... 65099/4 What does that translate to in English? Just out of curiosity.

N Power first bill - help!
Hi I rang N Power when we moved into our house and gave them meter readings. They've just sent our first bill with the opening readings as an estimate-much lower than the readings I gave them. They're refusing to acknowledge that they didn't put my opening readings in even though I have photos of the meters with the date…

E.ON - Why so long to arrange an energy survey?
It's now several weeks since I first contacted e.on about an energy survey and ECO improvements. Firstly they said someone would call back. After the first week and a half no-one had called, so I rang them again. Now they said they've passed my details on to an assessor. In other people's experience, how long will it be…

nPower estimates
Finally got confirmation of my switch to nPower and I'm puzzled by their estimates. Their electricity estimate is about double what I believe it should be and their gas estimate is just ridiculously low. How easy would it be to change the debit order once it's up and running? Or is there something I can do in the meantime…

Heating and an open stairwell
We have an open stairwell and have two upper floors in a 3 storey. Downstairs is always cooler than upstairs but I helped the situation by balancing the radiators. I did turn the landing valves right down to direct more hot water to the downstairs and hall radiator where the stat is. However I'm wondering if having a…

Switch is taking its time
Good morning and Merry Christmas everyone. I started a switch process late Oct 2013 to npower but as yet all I have received is an email from npower asking me to confirm my email address (twice they've sent the same email). The switch process can take 6-8 weeks. I think we're nearing the 8 week window rather sharpish. I…

British Gas splurge more money on huge party
I am utterly disgusted at what I saw tonight while many people are struggling to keep warm. British Gas laid on a Lavish party for 700 employees amid tight secrecy last night at Zulu Sundance, the Athena venue in Leicester. This featured coaches for guests, canap! reception, 3 course meal with wine thrown in, a full show…

To Eon Rep
Hi, In other posts, reps are saying that the 30.135p new standing charge from Jan, will actually be 26.019p. Will this be for us too? We are on the standard/EnergyPlan. But, this is for electricity, so will the gas standing charge go down aswell? The new price on the letter is 35.616p. Also, will the unit price go down…

I am currently on the first:Utility iSave Fixed v4 March 2014. I have just received an email offering me a move to the Fixed January 2016 or Fixed July 2015 from 1 January 2014. They tell me these deals may not be available if I wait until my current deal ends in March. What to do? Crystal ball anyone?

Npower further meltdown
This new pop-up is appearing when you log into your account. Not sure if this relates to the existing problems or is something new. The link is to the old message but I wasn't aware of the duplicate bills.

Most efficient way to use central heating...
So my boyfriend and I moved into our first house approx 6 months ago and we are still coming to grips with our gas/central heating system... We have a combi boiler that is less than 2 years old. I think it's bosch? And we have a honeywell wireless thermostat. Our central heating is only ever on when we turn it on manually…

Major Problem with Scottish Power.
Any help with this one would be much appreciated. Have been in this house since 2000 and with Scottish Power all that time on a dual fuel deal. A few years ago I did make an effort to move to a better deal with British Gas, but it all fell through as they weren't able to take on my meter - an economy 7 as far as I have…
