Hi,

In other posts, reps are saying that the 30.135p new standing charge from Jan, will actually be 26.019p.
Will this be for us too? We are on the standard/EnergyPlan.

But, this is for electricity, so will the gas standing charge go down aswell? The new price on the letter is 35.616p.

Also, will the unit price go down too, or remain what it says in the letters?

Morning Candy

Happy to confirm, from 18 January 14, the Standing Charge for electricity on our standard tariff (Energy Plan) will be 26.019p per day. This is for customers who don't pay with a Monthly Direct Debit.

Similarly, the gas Standing Charge on Energy Plan will be lower than that quoted in your letter. From 18 January 14, this will be 31.50p per day for customers not paying with a Monthly Direct Debit.

Monthly Direct Debit customers will see different Standing Charges. From 18 January 14, they'll be 16.422p (electricity) and 21.903p (gas) per day for customers on our standard Energy Plan.

The unit rates for both gas and electricity aren't changing, though. They'll be as advised in the letter.

I'm afraid, the letter you mention was printed before the Government announced changes to the social and environmental programmes. These changes have enabled us to keep the price increase lower than originally intended.
