EDF Online S@ver 6 ending
So my best tariff for some time is ending at the end of June - done all the comparison sites - there are none cheaper - I will be paying more if I switch. I really don't believe in fixing because you are subbing those on cheaper tariffs whilst hoping the prices rise above your "fixed rates" So I have decided to stay with…

Am I being stupid?
I'm looking into changing my Standard tariff with British Gas to a fixed one due to the incoming expected 19% price hike, but upon reading the fixed tariffs terms it says " Prices fixed at a 19% premium on top of our Standard tariff rates ". So wouldn't me switching from the standard tariff be a bit pointless because I'm…

I'm thinking of switching to EDF's fixed rate, but when I checked online for a review of them as a supplier there seem to be a lot of negative comments about their customer service, account handling etc. Anyone on here got experience of them? Hi there Our boiler has just kicked the bucket...I did take out insurance december 2010 and have been paying it since then but Npower didn't come out to do the first service that they're supposed to do under the insurance policy saying they were very busy and they'd get round to us when they could. That was wednesday just…

Time to switch from Gas to Elec?
With the pain I am experiencing with ever increasing gas prices (scotish energy just upped mine by 60%) plus factor in boiler servicing and the instant warmth from convectors and we must be coming closer to the point where it's cheaper to turn off the boiler and use the immersion/convector heaters? Anyone done any…

Confused by utilities - swap or not?
Hi again, I really don't know what to do as I'm totally confused by all the choices on the comparison sites. Am I right in thinking that unless you go for a fixed tariff then there really is no point switching yet, as the new company you go with could just as easily put their prices up by 19% too, like Scotish Power (who…

Hi I have been following with interest Martins TV & Radio appearances and the recommendation to check the comparison sites for a better deal. Our house was built in themid-eighties in conjunction with Southern Electric, there is no gas on the estate, so all of our heating etc is electric. A number of years ago we moved to…

Why No Fixed Rate Gas Only Tariffs?
All the fixed and capped tariffs are either dual-fuel or electricity only. Why don't any suppliers offer them? If someone for whatever reason doesn't want a dual fuel tariff, but wants a fix on gas only, then why not offer it?

Should I take Martins advice???
Hello, having just listened to Martin on radio 2 i've run my details through uswitch. I'm currently with OVO (new energy variable) and pay £73 for both gas and electric. According to uswitch i'm on the cheapest option and the cheapest fixed plans are more than £100 extra for the year. We are very tight financially…

stopping economy 7
I have just rung SP about coming off economy 7 as we no longer have storage heaters and we're not using a big enough percentage of electricity overnight to make it worthwhile. Thay have quoted me £54 ! Thay say it's because I need to have a new meter put it. Is this correct? I thought they could just use the combined day…
