Im with Edf at the moment with online saver 7 version,can anyone tell me if they think its a good move to change to the cap till 2014 product or would that work out too much in the long run

  • my own personal view:

    i changed to OS7 from eco 20:20 in late october 2010 , have enjoyed low prices since then , including EDF not increasing OS7 prices in march - here we are in june and the belated march increase is now upon us (due july 14th)- having paid off winter bills lower than eveeryone else (2 1/2 months longer);

    right now - staying with EDF and going to FS v2 is actually cheaper for 18 months fixed till sep 2012 than than OS7 will be in july....

    but for me, i am betting the horse - 3 winters at a capped rate for fixed 2014.
  • A bit more info from SP and I will be off to there new Online Deal. Rejecting EDF increase's and hopefully Cancellation Charges.

  • I think its horses for courses if you prefer to keep some control over the costs for the next few years the EDF 2014 seems as good as anything at the moment especially if you are with them as the change of tariff fee is not being charged !.
    Myself I have changed to the 2014 fixed because its saves the messing about changing each time it goes up also the termination is just £30(£15 gas 15 electricity) if you leave after 1st April 2012.
    I do not know if we have all made the right decision until 2014 its a gamble but unlike some EDF customers I have received very good service from them getting through on the phone this week within about 4 rings of the telephone and the £180 online S@ver cashback helped with the winter bills this year

    EDF are very good if you ring them up, they will go over your years usage and email what each tariff would cost, the fix 2014 would be an extra £227 a year for me.
