Why No Fixed Rate Gas Only Tariffs?

All the fixed and capped tariffs are either dual-fuel or electricity only. Why don't any suppliers offer them?
If someone for whatever reason doesn't want a dual fuel tariff, but wants a fix on gas only, then why not offer it?

Obviously because it is not economically viable?

Because people don't have only gas supplied to their property. They either have electricity only, or both.

But that does not make a gas only fixed tariff economically unviable?
I can still buy a gas only variable tariff-why not a fix?

  • I too think it strange. There's obviously an economic reason but I don't know what it can be if they let you fix the gas as part of a dual fuel deal?

nPower GoFix 6 is a fixed rate gas only tariff (at least as an option)

Eon/Age Concern offer a capped rate gas only tariff
