Would you accept a return?
I've just had someone email me to ask if I would accept a return as something she bought from me doesn't fit. I would be happy to refund the money for the item but the postage was more than the actual item. I'm a private seller just getting rid of my own stuff that I don't wear or use to pay the bills. If I refund the…

Moral dilemma - what would you do?
Just wondered - I know what I'm going to do, but wondered what the general consensus is. Buyer makes a purchase 10th March - sent 2nd class same day, so would have arrived by 17th march I guess. Feedback left today, 31st March, saying that item is wrong for their needs. Admit is was their mistake on feedback too, not mine.…

How to avoid an inferior item being returned
A buyer is going to return an item I sold because it is cracked and not working. It was OK when it left here, but accidents happen. I am a bit concerned because the buyer told me before purchasing that he/she had bought one from ebay recently and it didn't work. How do I guard against getting the wrong one back? TIA

Annoying buyer...
I sold an item to a buyer for £2.99 and when it arrived, it didnt fit her child so she asked for a refund. I said that would be fine but she would have to sed it back first and she said I'd have to pay £4 for postage (which is insane in the first place as it only cost me £1.17 I think to send) and I said I wouldnt pay that…

Some buyers really push their luck...
Accepted a best offer on 26th, sent a payment reminder this morning before we open an NPB on them. Just received this message . So... they want us to hold their item for exactly a month from their purchase date. Here's an idea: You pay today, we post tomorrow, then you look after the item for the required time. :wall:

Paypal: Faster Withdrawl
Hi all, I have done a search of the forum but haven't found anything so apologies if it's duplicated. I have sold 71 items in the past couple of days on eBay after doing a massive wardrobe clearance of everyone in the house. Most have paid but a few haven't, not a problem. I'm - after paying £65 for postage of the ones…

bought counterfeit dvd
Have bought a blu ray dvd on ebay which when it arrived turns out to be a counterfeit copy. I raised a claim and can return the item for a refund but this of course doesn't address the problem that the ebay seller is continuing to sell copies as real. I have clearly stated to both ebay and paypal that they are counterfeit…

Import tax on Ebay postage.
Hi guys, I've read the other thread I found on paying import taxes on goods being sent over from the US. Fair enough I thought. However a friend believes there is a limit of £170 - anything under this limit doesn't incur the tax. I appreciate we all have a friend who knows everything about everything, but is there any…

Opinions/advice please!
Hi, I am quite new to selling on ebay. I'd like advice/some opinions. A buyer has contacted me regarding a dvd box set I am selling, asking if I would be willing to end the auction now and sell for £20 inc p+p. (Starting price is £15). They say that apparently I can end the auction and re-post as a 'buy it now'. The…

Bought trousers from Ebay but they are smaller than advertised.
Hi all, I recently bought some designer trousers for my OH off ebay. They were brand new with tags. They are listed as a 38R - 38" waist and 32" inside leg. The pictures of the trousers in the listing clearly shows on the tags that the trousers are a 38. I received the trousers today and OH tried them on and to his dismay…

I wont bother asking for help here. seem people are more interested in forcing their opinions across on how everyone should behave rather than answering questions asked.

The postage is £5.99 special delivery, the buyer wants me to send it recorded, told her no, she bought the chain well under scrap value(not bothered about that auction is a auction, some you win, some you loose). It clearly states the postage. The buyer has…

New ebay postage
Hi there, I listed a bundle on the 28th- the bundle weighs over 2kg, so will cost me £7.04 standard parcels to post, so I listed with a £7.50 postage charge (using envelope which cost me 60p!). Obviously now we are not allowed to charge more than £4 for postage when listing something (ETA: in the clothing category), but I…
