Credit Card Cheques - Scandalous
I just received another batch of unsolicited credit card cheques from Bank of Scotland. They look like such a good idea until you read the small print. Anyone who uses them must be desperate or stupid. They do not offer any of the usual credit card protection. Interest is a whopping 29.95% from day one. You pay that…

I have a transaction for 3.99 from their on my online bill and I can't for the life remember where I might have used the card for £3.99... and certainly nowhere called Webworks. Is this a name for another company? (Ie; my local petrol garage comes up as 'sports centre' on…

MBNA: accepted or not?
Hi, I just applied for an MBNA card online. The rate was quoted as 16.9% typical. After the usual first few pages - personal details, income, etc. it came up with "we will be pleased to offer you a card at 23.9%" (or something v similar). I had to tick the electronic signature box and tell them I don't want PPI. The next…

Close Virgin CC and apply again later or wait?
We have cleared our Virgin CC as the 0% was ending but we will need another 0% in a few months (if there are any available). So should we leave the credit card open and hope we can get another offer off them in a few months or should we close it altogether and then apply to another company or try to apply to Virgin again…

Natwest PPI
My husband recently made a large purchase on his credit card. He has PPI on there (despite being told by me to cancel this years ago). Anyway, he got his bill through and as usual paid it off in full within seven days of receipt. He recently received his latest bill, which showed another premium for the PPI. He complained…

Barclaycard not replying to questions
Barclaycard have allowed criminals to change the address and date of birth on my account, and have also sent them six months worth of my statements. I am very worried that this information may be used to steal my identity. Such was my worry, that I have taken out identity theft insurance at a cost of £120 (with Barclays).…

Abbey Zero estimated interest issue
Hi Experts... Just over 6 months ago I signed up for an Abbey Zero card for me and my wife-to-be to take on our honeymoon with us for emergencies. Prior to going away we used the great zero loading on foreign currency to buy some activities from a Hawaiian company. We ended up not using the card at all on honeymoon, and…

Turned down for a Hallifax Card?!
Hello, I was turned down for a Hallifax Card today - no reason given. The trouble I have accepting this one is that I am debt free, have 3 credit cards where the balance is clear and no CCJs. I have recently moved home, perhaps thats the reason?

M&S Morecard interest - anyone been able to get it lowered?
At the moment I'm paying 20.9% on my Morecard (was originally 16.9%). I've tried phoning them to have it reduced but they send they won't. Anyone else tried to have it reduced and had it done? I can't apply for a new card as I had a lot of applications for loans (was moving house (renting) and needed cash for the deposit)…
