BT Misleading 18m packages
I am very unhappy with BT Broadband and I think they are being very misleading about their BT Broadband long term packages. I am sure there are many others in the same position as me? In March 2018 I signed up for an 18 month Unlimited Infinity 1 and weekend calls package for £29.99 a month with price increasing to £41.99…

BT price hike + moving provider?
I live in a different part of the UK for 5-6 months a year. At that property I had a BT line with basic BB and evening and weekend calls for £24.99 pm. I went online to the BT site only to do a line quality check after issues with voice comms. I was horrified to see that they were now charging me £51 per month for the same…

Security weakness LastPass?
I have been trying out LastPass which is supposed to be a super secure way of storing all your passwords - "extra strong encryption" - "everything stored in a digital vault" - etc - etc. The idea is you can protect everything in this one place. Their system is so secure even they don't store the passwords - it's done by…

Missing £150 virgin broadband
My parents signed up for the Virgin broadband offer on an MSE email from MSE. It was via a uswitch link. However they’ve not received the £150 Is anyone else in the same boat? They are raising a complaint via Resolver at MSE’s suggestion.

Which bb providers ?
cannot decide which one to go with plusnet. John Lewis or post office John Lewis and Post Office offer evenings and weekend calls. I can only get speed 2 to 3 bm but it is reliable and stable. Post office guarantes a speed of 1 to 3mb and they are the cheapest. May be J L but is their bb any good ?Anybody here subscribe to…

BT Broadband Retentions - Lies, Deception and Miss-Selling; BEWARE
I renewed my BT Phone Line/Fibre Broadband package last year, having previously been with them for 18 months on a really good deal promoted on MSE. I said I only wanted a 12 month deal so the salesperson told me he would sign me up to a 12 month deal (LIE) at £27 per month (DECEPTION) which I told the sales advisor was…

Moving house tomorrow (Sky)
As the title states we’re moving house tomorrow and are currently with Sky Broadband. We’d like to stay with them and I thought I could just take my WiFi box with me and continue using it from a new house, but I’m not sure this is the case If anyone has any experience in this I’d be grateful.

BT 'Generous offer'
Just received a friendly email off BT telling me that my Broadband is going up by £2.50. If I accept my personalised offer I can continue paying the same price that I had agreed for my 18 month contract. They didn't however highlight that my charge after the 'contract' finishes would be £8 a month higher than if I left it…

EE won’t let me choose an activation date
Hello. I’m currently in contract with BT till 2nd August. I want to give BT 30 days notice next week and take out a new better deal. Was considering going with EE as the broadband seams a good price and they offer 5g extra data for the mobile phone. I’ve just called EE and they are unable to let me choose an activation…

Prepaid line rental - what happens if I leave early?
I'm currently with BT, and prepaid the entire year of line rental up front to get the lowest cost across 12 months. Now they are increasing their prices, and I'm considering ditching early. However, I wonder what would happen to my pre-paid line rental in that case? Would I be refunded proportionally? Or will the remaining…

Who are the better broadband providers. Who's don't touch?
Who are the better broadband providers? Who should one not use? I've been with Plusnet for the last couple of years and had no real problems. However, my contract is coming up for re-newal. I've been with BT in the past an they were ok-ish. I'm considering John Lewis or Vodaphone. Any advice? I'm after standard broadband,…

EE broadband router limitations
A bit of a warning/tip We recently switched from TalkTalk broadband to EE, both standard Adsl broadband. The switch went well at first despite a delay caused by a local power cut on the day. However we soon realised our various devices weren't getting the sort of speeds we were used to. There was lots of buffering and slow…

Vodafone broadband - cashback?
Are there any cashback deals for Vodafone home broadband? I can't seem to find any from the usual suspects.... If using the existing mobile customer discount, would that invalidate cashback?

Currently with Virgin Media, not sure if I can shop around
So at the moment I pay £26.54 to Virgin Media for Fibre Optic. I don't know if this is a good deal. I had looked at switching to a cheaper provider but the problem is, the BT box is on the other end of the room and there isn't a power socket there. So we wouldn't be able to have the wifi there because how would we power a…

How far in advance of contract end to shop?
My broadband (bb) contract with BT ends in about 7 weeks. I may try to haggle, but if i don't get a good deal, i want to move to someone else who will give a good deal. Here's the thing: on one hand, i don't want to be without bb for more than a couple hours; on the other hand, i don't want to pay for too many days of…

SIM only, own router / tethering smart phone
Since the ISP's seem to either nail you to a cross or wait for you to drop the soap, has anyone considered going SIM only, and say getting a cheap smart phone or 4G router? I'm seeing monthly rolling contracts for as low as £20 for unlimited data....No line rental, setup fees or general smeg. Thoughts?

Getting out of long contracts
I have to say, I've just started looking at broadband deals and I'm quite frankly depressed. It's like haggling for petrol after telling the garage you've run out. So I've just moved into a place that I don't want to stay more than the 6 month contract. All the deals are like 12 month / 18 month contracts!! Ridiculous, do…
