Who are the better broadband providers. Who's don't touch?

Who are the better broadband providers? Who should one not use?
I've been with Plusnet for the last couple of years and had no real problems. However, my contract is coming up for re-newal.

I've been with BT in the past an they were ok-ish.

I'm considering John Lewis or Vodaphone. Any advice?
I'm after standard broadband, but would consider fibre if the price was right.

Everyone's probably got favourites and carriers they wouldn't touch with a barge pole. Just select either standard or fibre from https://broadband.moneysavingexpert.com/ and choose the one that suits. Then speak to PN and see if they'll price match or as near as makes you happy.

I've been with Plusnet since 2007. Any time I've had a problem, router breakdown (2) they have replaced free of charge with nominal postage charge. Each time I've talked to them at contract end or price rise they have offered a decent enough deal to keep me. Haven't upgraded to fibre yet as good speeds on ADSL - 0.5 miles from exchange.

I am with them too but just since 2015 when I moved here!

I would be insulted at the postage charge for their POS router! I think I used it until amazon delivered me a decent one!

Not a good measure though. the only measure of a good provider is what they do when there is an infrastructure problem. With openreach stuff I doubt any of the cheap ones and most of the expensive stuff would do anything but blame you and hope you change provider! (plusnet included). If you want competance there go with A&A but expect to pay for it! (Yes I exaggerate but really a lot of them try to avoid openreach call outs at all costs unless you go the the "hidden" department and avoid the main contact options).

I agree here, they do seem to offer reasonabler deals. But I am not one for chasing the cheapest at all costs as I know where that leads!

Lucky you! 0.5 is what I would be lucky to get on ADSL! Thankfully I get just under 60 on FTTC. (I upgraded from 40 as at the time plusnet only offer 2 up on it and I needed better, think it's

10 now, but the 20 does me great!)

Vodafone's customer service is shocking. It's almost impossible to speak to someone who can help. I wouldn't wish their broadband on my worst enemies!

I'm looking for a reliable service at a reasonable cost. I do realise if I pay peanuts I might get junk.

John Lewis are Plusnet - they just use the JL logo and name to sell the service.
Although sometimes they can be cheaper than Plusnet.

If you are on a Virgin Media route, consider them. They came out within 24 hours to fix a broken cable in the garden. Like the others they are inexorable price hikers, mind.

Post office any good. Good deal until end of Sep including weekend calls £17. I can only get between 1 to 3 mb according to my postcode. With bt I can only get between 2 - to 2.5 mb and it is ok for my needs. John Lewis £20 including evenings and weekend call. Which one is better pl. Thanks
