Prepaid line rental - what happens if I leave early?

I'm currently with BT, and prepaid the entire year of line rental up front to get the lowest cost across 12 months. Now they are increasing their prices, and I'm considering ditching early. However, I wonder what would happen to my pre-paid line rental in that case? Would I be refunded proportionally? Or will the remaining line rental transfer to a new supplier (which might be awkward if the line rental is shifted relative to the broadband contract)? Or will I simply lose the months not used with BT?
I'm not sure yet if leaving early is really worth it (price increase is £2.50 a month, and the price hike starts 1.5 months before my 12 months are up), but I'm pretty sure that losing part of my prepaid line rental would lead to an overall loss.

As above but follow the details in price increase letter to contact BT .Dont just move BT need to know you are cancelling due to price increase and they may well cut you a deal .
As ALR rises to £219 i am about to renew mine before the price rise .
