EE won’t let me choose an activation date

Hello. I’m currently in contract with BT till 2nd August. I want to give BT 30 days notice next week and take out a new better deal. Was considering going with EE as the broadband seams a good price and they offer 5g extra data for the mobile phone.

I’ve just called EE and they are unable to let me choose an activation date. How can I make this work? As don’t want to leave BT a few days early and get charged termination fees.
Thanks !!!128513;

    It's usually 14 days notice for BB but even if you leave early you should only pay up to the end of the contract. When does the EE deal finish?

    It's a good move BT > EE
    But I wouldn't sign up any earlier that 3 weeks before your contract (minimum term) expires

    Yes you could be charged .
    Depends upon when the equipment was sent out and your contracts .Receive new router and generally they will charge if cancelled before the contract is finished .Take out a later contract and no further charge if the same equipment .
    ISP initiated swap near the end of current contract not sure if they still charge .
