BT infinity mis-sold?
Hi, Following a recent call to BT with a billing query, it came to light that I was effectively mis-sold their highest BB package back in November 2011... I was initially on the 10gb limit, but risked over-use each month so called them with the question: "What is the next option up?" To which the guy advised me about…

12 month fiber contract
Is there anyone in the UK that offers a 12 month only fiber contract? Everyone I have found seems to limit to 18 months, which is a bit silly as we are students and only live in each house for 12 months, I'm also 100% certain we will be moving back to a non fiber area (London->Manchester) If you know any, what advice would…

Government Broadband Rural initiative.
Hi Bit of an awkward Title I know, but it concerns the fact that my Lincolnshire village has been chosen as on to be cabled up. Open Reach have already laid cable and installed new cabinets in ours and other villages. Louth, the nearest town about 2.5 miles, is our Exchange. It is said to be a 2-year Trial, but what I and…

ADSL2+ and BT
Hi all, My exchange has recently been upgraded to ADSL2+ making it possible to get speed of up to 17mbps instead of up to 8 which I am on right now. I am with Talktalk for my landline and BT for broadband and don't want to change either. Rang BT to ask about getting the ADSL2+ and they told me I need to change my landline…

Primus line rental charge UP
Recently switched to Primus Saver on the MSE deal for another family member. Just received a notice from Primus that the monthly line rental will increase by 1.20 from 15 August. That's nearly 10%. Think I'll be switching again in 9 months time...

TT line conversion charge (move to O2)
O2 advised that if I was to switch from TT, I'd need to pay a 43.00 line conversion charge because TT 'convert' the line when you sign up with them (i.e. its no longer a BT, or whatever line). The 43.00 would go some way towards negating the savings I anticipated. Should I just negotiate with TT to get a better monthly…

Internet Security Packages
Hi all I currently have Norton 360 security installed but this is due to expire in about 4 weeks. I have checked online for prices but am a bit confused as to what product I need. I have seen on the Norton / Symantec site "Internet Security 2012" for £24.99 and "Norton 360 version 6.0" for £29.99. I haven't a clue when it…

Orange Broadband - can anyone explain this ?
On Sunday 17th June, my Orange Broadband stopped working. I reported it straight away, but no quick resolution. On Tuesday following, whilst in the Orange shop complaining, the helpful guy got through to Orange Broadband and I was told that they had found a line card problem in the Exchange and replaced it. Upon returning…

O2 - deals (existing customer /cashback)
With TT at the moment - but reward for being a long-term customer is the monthly cost has risen beyond offers to new customers. CS average (India CC), issues with link (line) drops, and much buffering on streaming media. Looking at O2 as it appears to be a quality service. Have an O2 PAYG phone so thought I'd get 5.00 off…

Exchange having ADSL2+ activated
My local exchange will shortly have ADSL2+ activated. Will I automatically get the benefit of this (I get a mere 3mbps at present), or do I have to contact my ISP to arrange for an "upgrade" of some sort?
