hiya,
have been looking at Tesco broadband and just wondered if anyone has it and what they think of it?
Prices look pretty good, I don't want anything overly brilliant...only browse and occasionally stream.
Any opinions would be welcome!!

Well I did a search for Tesco broadband and it brought me to this thread.
£2.50 a month, unlimited downloads, up to 14mbs speed. Sounds great!
So what's up with it?0 -

Doesn't seem too bad. Main negatives seem to be speed (BT's fault - crap quality phone lines) and long call wait times (nothing to do with the BB).
Surely you can't argue with £2.50 a month?0 -
It's not £2.50 a month. You have to get line rental for £13.75 as well.
Looking at the t&c they have a fair use policy which means unlimited is not unlimited. Like all the other companies they mis sell but are allowed to get away with it. Usually the limit is 40 GB a month and under the t&c Tesco will charge you for every Mb you go over.
I'm been with adsl24 for 12 months+ and have the top package for £40 we use 300gb a month.
Who has the best deal?
If you want unlimited to mean unlimited look at the smaller companies. It may cost more but unlimited means unlimited and not this fair use crap.0 -
I am with Tesco broadband, fairly smooth transition from TalkTalk had a decent speed for a couple of weeks and now I constantly have to switch my router on and off to try and get any speed I have called numerous times wasted many hours on the phone. One of the reasons apart from price I went with Tesco is having a UK call centre , they haven't a bloody clue you can hear them scratching their heads and if all else fails they will send a new router, tell you to run an ethernet cable around your house and finally to get a wireless booster. In my personal opinion don't bother !Born and bred in Manchester (proud of it)

Did you have to pay anything to get the TT telephone line switched over to Tesco?0 -

Noooo.......I contacted various ISP and non of them would transfer the number over, they kept telling me I needed a new number, Tesco was the only one that would transfer the number.
Had more problems today, so they are sending me router no.3 and then they can whistle and I will take my business elsewhere.Born and bred in Manchester (proud of it)
