12 month fiber contract

Options
Is there anyone in the UK that offers a 12 month only fiber contract? Everyone I have found seems to limit to 18 months, which is a bit silly as we are students and only live in each house for 12 months, I'm also 100% certain we will be moving back to a non fiber area (London->Manchester)

If you know any, what advice would you give? How do we get the best deal?

Zen have a 12 month contract for Fibre broadband with different download limits. They are not cheap but have an excellent reputation. CLICK HERE

I am with them for normal broadband.

Fibre is an engineer install and requires a special modem. Therefore the contracts are longer in order to recover the higher start-up costs.

BT offer 12 month fibre contracts if you are already a BT customer, depends on your circumstances.

BT only have fibre in a few test areas and from what I hear have no plans for a national roll out. EVERYONE else gets copper, even those on Virgin cable. BTs (and Virgin) can provide fibre to the cabinet, however all the consumer gets is copper - a twisted pair on BT, or Co-axial on Virgin.

If you remember the adage that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, it is a mistake to refer to this as a fibre connection. The only fibre connection is when the fibre is the delivery methods to your premises, and these are few and far between.
