Hi there,
firstly apologies if this is the wrong part of the forum to post about online dating (specifically match.com) issue I'm having but here goes -
I was a customer of match.com in January this year, tried it for a month and I terminated subscription at end of the month as I was particularly busy with work commitments at the time.
Later this year say March/April I noticed in my junk email a message saying money had been debited from my paypal account to match.com I was unsure if it was a spam email? I phoned my bank and they said no money had been taken out for that amount to match.com I checked my statement and it confirmed this.
I still received emails from match.com in my junk mail and in May another paypal one appeared and I thought this was spam also - I went on match.com and I was able to access the site which I didn't understand having not renewed my subscription. I assumed it must have been a trial.
Anyway to cut this short I discovered £30.00 was taken via paypal from my bank at the beginning of May and June in a direct debit by match.com At no point did I re-subscribe or authorise this.
Match.com are phoning me back this morning about the matter and possible refund. I just wanted folks opinions on here as one of my mate's said that sounds like fraud.
If anyone could offer help/advise I'd appreciate it.
Cheers.

So what was the minimum term you subscribed for? You'd normally have to give 30 days notice anyway. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Have you checked on Paypal to see if there are any recurring payments set up?
These are where a merchant sets up a recurring payment via paypal so paypal take the money from you on a regular basis and pass it to the merchant. Sounds like one of these might have been created first off and is still active.
