Child maintenance payments query on gross income and self-employment
My son currently has a non-CSA agreement to pay child support directly to his ex-partner. He has used the calculator to see what he should be paying based on his gross income. If he were to go through the CSA would any allowance be made for weeks where he needs the self-employed equivalent of annual leave, as obviously he…

Will my total earnings for this 2024-25 year still matter, as i will only get 5 months of child benefit i.e. if i exceed the £50k…

Pay back 2023/2024
Been victim of the high income child benefit tax since 2015. 23/24 is the first year I’ve stepped over the £60k mark. Although the earnings cap has finally been raised as inflation has every year for next financial year, does this mean that all next years benefit I will receive will be basically to pay all last years back?

What to do when divorced parents can't agree on sharing child-related universal credit?
I assume the legal/court order stage starts with speaking to a sollicitor but I'm asking here about the stage before that, mediation. How does it work? Does the government provide it? Is it free?

Childcare cost help
Currently on maternity leave looking into the help available for childcare when I return to work. Our childcare costs are not expected to be huge thanks to the new help announced last year. Can I ask if we can build a pot of tax free childcare to use in the future? I see you aren’t allowed to claim while on maternity so…

Child benefit never paid to me
How do I make a claim for child benefit that was never paid to me? CBA refused my claims for Child benefit for all 3 of my children using the excuse that because their father was a US Airman and he got duty free petrol, cigarettes and alcohol, I wasn't entitled to it. I'm English with hundreds of years of generations born…

Child Maintenance Question
Hi all, I just want to state that this isn't about getting out of paying for my son. My son is everything to me and I'll always ensure he has everything he needs. It's more a matter of principles and recent actions from my ex resulting in me questioning my contributions. Me and my ex agreed I have my son for 3 nights every…

Maintenance payments from Ex on benefits.
I've just discovered my ex is getting an additional payment from DWP that she had not told me about previously. She gets Universal Credit & PIP and has always insisted that the PIP bears no relevance to the amount she has to pay me. I have now found out that she also gets around £400 a month extra as she gets LCWRA. For…

Money Moral Dilemma: Should my partner contribute to us repaying Child Benefit?
This week's MoneySaver who wants advice asks... Over the past few years, I've been adding more and more to my workplace pension to keep my net income under £50,000, so my partner can keep receiving Child Benefit without having to repay any of it. But now I'd need to pay 26% of my salary into my pension, which I feel is too…
