Help me! Tickets cancelled due to strike and where do I stand!
hi there, I need some advice on where I stand with the rail strikes. I booked a ticket for London to Liverpool for the 5th April to get there early in the morning. Unfortunately now the train has been cancelled. The alternative route the Trainline has given will get me there after my meeting. I can't afford to stay in a…

Notice of intention to prosecute from Kings Cross Station London
Good afternoon, I received a Notice of intention to prosecute from Kings Cross Railway station. I purchased a regular ticket on line but wasn't able to print it, so when I arrived to St Pancras station I asked the officer to open the gate showing him my booking reference in order to print the ticket at the machine right in…

Ferry Travel delays
Are there any standard procedures for recompensing UK Ferry Travel delays? The Isle of Wight is suffering badly from substandard services from it's ferry providers - one of whom at least provide vouchers for complimentary hot drinks for delays of two hours and more, the other - Wightlink - provide absolutely nothing!

Northern Delay Repay website - password field not encrypted?
I've made several claims and was about to make another one for a cancelled train when I realised that, when I type into the password field, it is not encrypted: Has it always been this like? It's a secure connection (verified by Amazon apparently) and looks like the legit website but all other websites I've used that…

Rail fare rises March 2024
According to the news rail fares will rise by “up to 4.9%”. My monthly season ticket with London Northwestern Railway will rise from £636.30 to £677.50. I calculate that at more than a 6% increase. Who do I complain to? Any ideas? How is this allowed if the fare increases are capped at 4.9%?

Booking Advance Train Tickets
We are planning a trip in late June, so I have started to check prices on a couple of rail operators’ apps, including LNER as they operate services over the longest section of our route. I'm still being offered Anytime tickets, except when I use the Trainline app. There, the outbound tickets are shown as discounted and…

GWR Train Fares
Hi, Has anyone else experienced a massive price hike from GWR recently that's way above the advertise 4.9% in the press? I would often travel return from Plymouth To London for around £79. I am currently being quoted for the same departure and return times on a Monday £109.50. If I am to travel on any other day than Monday…

Giving up second car- need some encouragement
My partner and I had a car each when we got together and we still run our own cars. We are lucky enough that we can afford this comfortably. Before the pandemic, I walked to work and sometimes drove for work meetings. Used the car occasionally after work and weekends but usually in the town I live in. Now, hardly used at…

Options available to me on strike days
I have train tickets booked to travel with GWR from Worcester to London Paddington on Saturday 6th April returning on Sunday 7th. At the time of writing there is to be a strike on GWR trains on the Saturday (but I assume some sort of service on the Sunday for the return). Am I able to use my Outwards ticket on other…

Senior railcard validity
Have gone all through the railcard site and can’t find the answer to this. Can the senior railcard be used on the ‘valid until’ date itself? My current one says valid until 21st March, I’ve not yet got a new one and want to travel on 21st.

Stop this attempt to abolish flexible & affordable rail tickets in the UK.
Currently LNER (which operates trains on the London/Edinburgh route) is undertaking a "pilot scheme" which they are trying to portray as a "simplification of fares". However, they are trying to abolish something which has been a fundamental feature of UK rail travel for decades - the "off-peak" ticket. This is a ticket…

Stagecoach bus are unaccountable
I have exhausted all efforts to escalate a complaint against Stagecoach, but it seems they are unaccountable. The last straw was when I had to comfort a young lady who was in danger of losing her job because of her method of getting to work, Stagecoach was constantly late or didn't bother to show up. I have spoken to may…
