Money Moral Dilemma: Is it fair to keep the loyalty points from doing my neighbour’s shopping?
This week's MoneySaver who wants advice asks… I help a housebound, 82‑year‑old neighbour by doing his weekly shop. He’s got no smartphone and no idea how supermarket loyalty schemes work, so I use my own app when buying his groceries at the same store I use for my family. The rewards only add up to a few quid a month –…

MSE News: Lidl shopper? You now need to earn points to get 'freebies' and money-off coupons
Under Lidl's revamped loyalty scheme, which launched today (Tuesday 5 May), you now earn points for each pound spent, which you can either convert into money-off coupons or use to claim 'freebies'. But Lidl shoppers say they may now need to spend £10s or even £100s more to earn similar discounts to those they'd earn under…

Nectar "Spin to Win"
Nectar is running a daily Spin to Win competition this week - prizes range from nothing to varying amounts of Nectar points. I'd be interested to see if anyone is awarded a prize, and also what their usage of Nectar is (either accruing points or spending them). I have about £50 in Nectar points that I have built up over…

Clubcard Challenges
Anyone else doing these? Currently I qualify for 600 points or £6 in vouchers. If I spend £44 on certain items in the next two weeks, this increases to 2950 points or £29.50 in vouchers. As I have two easyJet holidays to pay for this means I get £59 off. I'm sure I could get even more. I haven't actually bought anything I…

Waitrose bottled beer prices
I visited Waitrose today expecting to find Wychwood King Goblin at the usual price of £7 for 4. It was one of the few decent bottled beers remaining below £7.50 for 4. Instead, I the price has been increased to £8 for 4: An increase of over 14% !!! It is now more expensive than premium beers such as Abbot Reserve or…

Waitrose online shop
I noticed on my receipt I hadn’t been given any credit for a 3 for £12 deal. My order email showed them all as being included and charged at the reduced price but the receipt email on the day of delivery showed full price. Honest mistake I thought, probably compounded by them substituting one of the items. So I just…

Easter eggs reduced
Do Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Lidl, Aldi or Asda have a history of reducing the price substantially after this weekend to get rid of left over stock ? I fancy treating myself but only if it's cheap lol

Aldi Mayonnaise
Had to vent on this one. Been buying the product for many years. Stood up to the main big brands - at a fraction of the price. Bough a new jar last week. It had a new colour label - didn't take much note to be honest. They've changed the recipe - and it is terrible. They've also changed the name from "Real Mayonnaise" to…

Southern Co-op is attempting to avoid insolvency
Southern Co-op, the regional co-operative society that operates 300 or so stores in the South of England, have made losses for the past three years and have now run out of lending capacity to continue to make those losses. Their hastily propsed "merger" with Co-op Group is to prevent insolvency, and they are not hiding the…

Iceland bag rip-off
When the government brought in the charge for carrier bags Iceland started adding a charge of £1.60 to cover this cost on their home deliveries. Delivery shops - a how to
I want to do my delivery shops for the month and then adjust them. However I don't get paid until Friday. Am I right in thinking that most supermarkets require you to have the funds to check out when you place the order? This is very inconvenient. Do you know why they do this? Thanks 😊

Meridian Peanut Butter 1Kg tub
Anyone know how on earth you get this open? I've bought it twice and both times when I've pulled the plastic tab, it's come off in my hand. And I've spent about 20 minutes sawing the lid off with a sharp knife. Anybody else had this battle or am I missing something?
