Tesco Price Rises
I only buy a few items from Tesco as I shop mainly at Lidl, but noticed last week price rises on some items I buy every week. Then on another forum I see someone else mentioned it. Perhaps they hope that shoppers don't notice it. I wonder what has driven the price rise, a deliberate strategy every six months, or their…

Nectar Points not getting credited to account.
Nectar works with various partners. In fact there are over 500 of them. Ebay is one of them. I buy off eBay regularly. To those who are unaware, you have to go through the Nectar using the app or the website where it directs you to the partner, (eBay). You make your purchase and then the next day you get an email notifying…

Tesco not honouring vouchers at the till...
I had an issue in Tesco yesterday. On a previous trip, I'd got a voucher with my receipt for a free product on my next visit. Yesterday, I put that item in my basket, checking carefully that it was the right product, right brand, size etc. It was. But at the till, it wouldn't give me the product free - it just knocked off…

Redeeming Tesco Clubcard Vouchers
I've just redeemed some Clubcard points for vouchers to use towards pub meals. I would normally print out the vouchers (old-fashioned, I know, but I am ancient). However that facility has apparently been withdrawn, and the only way to use your vouchers now is via the app on your phone. Tesco don't even send an email to…

Co-op fake 'Unusual Activity' competition email
Anyone else annoyed at the Coop competition email with the header 'we’ve detected unusual activity on your membership' So irresponsible especially less than a year after they allowed themselves to be hacked and all our information compromised. Obviously, after opening their email, I realised that it was only an email to…

Wholemeal flour
I bought some Bacheldre wholemeal flour at Waitrose and the package says that the fibre content is only 3%. That seems extremely low for wholemeal. Normally it is about 10%. This is stoneground flour from a small water mill in Wales, so it’s possible that the package is not accurate. I don’t really want to raise the issue…

Seville Oranges 2026

Asda hiking the price
Been buying Banks Bitter for years and up until recently it was £1.12 in Asda, they've now nearly doubled it to £2 (Tesco is £1 and Morrisons 99p), this is a massive mark up and it's not only on beer. It's been all over the news that they've got thousands of products cheaper but what they don't say is that a lot of other…

Geek's Guide to the Morrisons MORE Scheme
It's a perpetual point of discussion as to which loyalty scheme is the best, because everybody has different requirements. The Morrisons MORE scheme is quite generous as it gives you points on every item you buy, as opposed to every £. For the mathematically inclined... When you have accumulated 5000 MORE points, this…

Single use coffee bags
A relative uses these and currently has the Taylor’s ones. They seem awful for the environment as the packing cannot be recycled and the bags themselves seem to be made of plastic. Does anyone know of more eco friendly ones please ? Needs to be single use bags for ease as they are elderly with limited capacity

Freebie hack with the Lidl Plus app
Just to recap...If you have the Lidl Plus app installed, you get individual coupons; preferential prices on some items; as well as rewards for monthly spend. Regarding the monthly spend, it's divided into tiers and the 1st tier is £10, which gets you a free sweet treat from the in-store bakery. So, having spent £10 in the…

Special Flakes
What is going on with the recipe of own-brand Special Flakes? The flakes are so hard and difficult to chew, they could break a tooth :# Lidl (Crownfield), Tesco and Morrisons have changed their recipes and the flakes are now really hard. It's possible the same manufacturer produces them for different supermarkets?
