Has anyone worked out how to get an online Tesco receipt in pdf without all the silly photographs and 8 pages of waffle they send as email receipt?

If there is I haven't found it yet. There used to be an easy print option years ago, when they gave you a printed receipt so never needed to use it.

I need to print a receipt so I can tick the items off with a pencil, I cant check it off the screen reliably, and I get some stuff for even older relative so need to keep track of whats owed.. So at the moment I copy paste into libreoffice writer (its like word) as unformatted text, and spend a few minutes (with mug of tea) tidying it up. You dont get the silly yellow offer bars, or pictures but it does leave gaps where they were.

You should be able to print out a plain list, other retailers seem to provide them as standard. I'm not sure whether its just lazy formatting at their end or they would like us to give in and not bother checking for missing or refunded items 🤬.

The website now has pdf receipts for online orders available from the "My account" menu. One year of receipts can be viewed and downloaded. I couldn't find this option in the Android app so hopefully it will be added there too.

It says that in-store receipts are coming soon. I think this will also be a good thing so I am looking forward to it.

That is a huge improvement. Just a straight forward printable list. 😃 I cant check the items off on screen, its so much easier to run through ticking with a pencil. I always wondered how many were paying for missing items without realising, because they simply haven't got the time to check.

Now if they could just alter the way they add a voucher?? At present if you have a monitory voucher (ie £5 off) they apply the saving by percentage to all items on the shopping list, so every item shows a slight reduction as if on offer, which makes it harder to see what the item was actually priced at. Every other site just deducts the voucher at the end.

Yes, ticking the items off with a pencil is a lot easier and less error prone.

I completely agree about the vouchers being split across all the items, that is really annoying! I'm trying to use the vouchers when shopping in store to avoid this problem.

The reason they show the price after the split of vouchers is because that's the amount you get back if you return something. I think it's good that they are transparent. Ocado does it the same way in the background but they don't show you the split, so it appears that you're getting short-changed on returns / rejected substitutions.

Thanks for the explanation, I understand it now. The portion of a refunded item paid using vouchers is refunded in Clubcard points. So we shouldn't be losing out when an item has to be sent back.

It would still be nice to know the price before the vouchers are taken into account because the unit price is often inflated way above the Clubcard price, making week to week comparisons more difficult when vouchers are used. A complete breakdown would be ideal to make it clearer.

If part of the payment was made using Clubcard vouchers, the refund value will be calculated based on the percentage of eligible items in the basket paid for using vouchers. The percentage paid with vouchers will be refunded as Clubcard points. The remaining balance will be refunded to the original payment method.
