  • Hi, I posted on here a while a go asking to join and then haven't been back since! We have a lot going on at the moment with my husband being on long term sick from work (which is what has highlighted the need for an emergency fund) its really bothered me not getting off the mark yet so today I have transferred £5.00 into a savings account. Still a long way off my initial £500 goal but its a starting point :D x

Hello and welcome back! Well done for getting off the starting mark. You are officially number 58. Make sure you keep us updated as the more people that post the more inspired it makes others :D

    Morning Everyone....

I'm so sorry, I know I have been rotten at Updating this Thread....Things have just been all over the place with Work and with Health....

Work is not going great at the old place....lots of rubbish going on and backstabbing....so I think I'm out of there...which means I've had to start with someone new and try and get into a new routine which is not that easy for me....Change is NEVER easy with me....or comfortable....

And health-wise...I've been diagnosed with low blood pressure....and there is nothing that they can do about it...they are investigating the reason behind it and maybe they can do something about that....who knows....but I almost constantly feel nauseous, dizzy, faint...it's really horrible and a bit scary when I feel like I'm going to faint when I'm outside the house....but hopefully they will find something and be able to fix it....

Anyway...that's what has been going on with me...I will try my very best to be more attentive to this Thread...

I have added another Fiver to my Emergency Fund :D So I'm pleased about that...It's going slowly but I'm glad about that because it's money that I won't miss and won't need to take back out (I hope!! :D)....

    Morning Helen,

No need for apologies, we are just glad that you're OK and despite the health and work challenges.
Work is not going great at the old place....lots of rubbish going on and backstabbing....so I think I'm out of there...which means I've had to start with someone new and try and get into a new routine which is not that easy for me....Change is NEVER easy with me....or comfortable....

Change is difficult but you are better than the situation you find yourself in. It won't be easy but if you can embrace change you may be surprised at the results.........great things happen when you are in your discomfort zone.

I'm sorry to hear you're not very well. Hopefully your Doctor can find medication to support you. I have low blood pressure but nowhere near as bad as you, it's not pleasant to feel faint and with nausea and dizzy spells regularly it must be a challenge. Do take care.
I have added another Fiver to my Emergency Fund :D So I'm pleased about that...It's going slowly but I'm glad about that because it's money that I won't miss and won't need to take back out (I hope!! :D)....

Well done on adding a little more to your EF. To keep adding when you are having lots of challenges in life show true determination and commitment. ;)

Thank you for my star, you are so sweet.

Rio may have Team GB doing brilliantly but we have Team EF right here and we are all worthy of a Gold medal just for our team spirit and motivation.

Keep on keeping on Helen, you will catch your rainbow :D

Thank You Dobbi, you really are lovely....I really appreciate you on this Thread....the cheerleading and the support is wonderful...so thank you.

Today has been a bit of a "nothing" day...but perhaps I needed one to re-group and try and move forwards....I'm still looking for other work as it frightens me to have all my eggs in one basket...that's what I did before and look where it got me....

But I shall keep on keeping on (one of my Mum's favourite sayings)....and I shall prevail...

I hope everyone is having a really wonderful Day....Let's all keep on keeping on xXx :)
  • Helen I second everything Dobbi says, sending big hugs your way xx

Carboot I'm the same with the olympics, can't stop watching and am now totally sleep deprived lol :)

New EF total is £4700 which is 55.29% of my target, slowly slowly getting there

I am still awaiting the newest figures from the council, so for now the Emergency Funds have gained another £10
    So I now have £1110.00
I have my replacement car. I'm getting used to a lower income, and after doing 0%!card transfers etc all my debt is now interest free.
(Except not sure what the council final debt will be).
I did notice that I haven't put anything into the ISA since I opened it in February. Let's hope I can add to it soon.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

Helen i am very glad to see you back safe and well! I really hope you get everything sorted with work. I am the same with change, i have been at my current job for 7.5 years now, it's not all been good and i was severely underpaid for the work i was doing and not treated that well but i didn't leave because of the fear of change.

I'm doing the Slimming World diet. It might be worth looking into for you. I've been absolutely loving it and i'm eating loads and losing about 1kg every week. It doesn't cost a lot food wise and i can help you out with meals and information so you don't have to pay for membership. There's also an amazing facebook page that gives loads of help.

Anyway i'm stop rabbiting on. Enjoy your day x

I was trying to lose weight recently (when aren't I?:o) on a diet I'd concocted myself. Someone told me that the reason I wasn't losing much was because I wasn't eating enough:eek:. That really shocked me as I always thought the less the better. She did one of the major ones, maybe it was Slimming World, and she was able to eat loads and still lost more than me who was existing on rabbit food:(

Honestly i eat WAY more now than i ever have and i'm losing every week. If i don't eat loads i don't lose weight end of. I can't sing SW's praises highly enough. I'm happy to help if you want to give it a go. Try it for a week and see where you get on. I will happily share my e-mail or other contact info if anyone wants my help with rules and info etc.

The only time i have ever managed to lose this much weight was by literally starving myself. It was a stupid thing to do and i ended up having a lot wrong with me. I couldn't keep it up and ending up putting it all back on and more besides. This 'diet' is more a way of life and i could honestly stick to it forever. My OH eats the same meals as me and barely notices a difference (however he doesn't have any weight to loose and still stuffs his face with treats daily)

Sorry Helen, I don't want anyone to get in trouble for moving away from the actual thread but health is very important x
