This should help anyone unsure about why posts get deleted.
(Please note that I didn't delete anything myself)
That's the usual MSE mantra to be honest and does not address why so many posts have been deleted on this thread. I see nothing in the rules that allow deletion because the OP complains about unnecessary points of view from other MSE'rs.0 -
Who are you to say who are you?
Happy new year to all xx
Just an ordinary MSE member like you. I however would never report your or anyone's post for being an unnecessary point of view and get it deleted. If you are happy with your point of view being considered unnecessary by someone and your posts being deleted, fair enough I'm fine with that. I however don't like it, that's my point of view.0 -

I see your post from yesterday was removed. Do you realise anyone can report an abusive post, it will be considered and may be removed.there are various reasons why posts get removed .
The thing is I've no idea which post of mine was removed You know more than me it appears. In what way was my removed post abusive?
You correctly say anyone can report an abusive post, unfortunately anyone can report a post as abusive when it's not. The people in MSE Towers don't appear to get that.
MSE are far too busy missing loading a St Andrews day banner and ignoring the complaints about that. Site feed back forum my arse! (or for that matter the banner for that annual festival on the 25/12). But hey ML was on his hols for that one so that's okay. 80 odd million for a company that can't run a diary properly....well done ML you sold out just in time.0 -
Posts aren't just removed for being abusive, I suggest you read the rules/FAQ for clarification or contact the forum team. Information on how o do so is at the top right of the page Complaining here won't get you very far because these forums aren't actively moderated due to the sheer number of posts. This means it will possibly go unread!
This part may be of most use to you:
"Posts and threads are deleted so we're no longer "publishing" them. You may have posted it, but once we're made aware of it - we may become legally liable too, as the publisher. When something is deleted, it's removed from public view but it's still viewable by the Forum Team and can be reinstated if it needs to be. It won't show up in a forum search.
We never contact people when their posts are deleted. The sheer number of posts removed every day means it's simply impossible to contact everyone.
The Forum Team won't respond to aggressive emails demanding to know why a post/thread's been removed but if you send a polite email asking, it may review or explain the decision where possible (sometimes legal reasons prevent this). If you're still unhappy, email webmaster@moneysavingexpert.com"Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. I volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly. Board guides are not moderators and don't read every post. If you spot an abusive or illegal post then please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com (it's not part of my role to deal with abuse). Any views are mine and not the official line of MoneySavingExpert.com0 -
I dont mean to sound rude, yes I reported the original thread as I said before it had just turned into a mess for more than one reason, what posts were deleted etc were the choice of the forum team.
As for further removals, I can assure anyone that I have not reported anyones post, if there is a reply to this thread, i will read it, but as far as I am concerned I am dealing direct with M+S, and as such any outcome will will stay between me and M+S.
To me the matter is closed as far as this thread in concerned,xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
This year I tried to get all the gifts about a month before Christmas. Very easy and a lot less stress and hassle. I can recommend doing that in future.0

You can trot out the MSE mantra until the cows come home. The forum team don't actually reply and that's my experience. I'm still waiting on a reply months down the line.
There's 20-30 guys at least on MSE and not one cottoned on to 25/12 was a date to celebrate with a banner...ML was on his hols...apparently?? Oh dear!0 -

In that case it was someone, who liked to dish it out, but went crying like a baby to the moderators when given a bit of their own medicine.35, semi retired, sun, sand, sea, life is good
When you are done moaning remember that there are people who would love to have your standard of living!0 -

Well of course we all have opinions. People who delete posts have opinions.
What is it they say-today's news is tomorrow's fish and chip wrapper, just can't get too het up because the site doesn't do things the way you want slowhand. Don't have a clue what your banner comments are about btw.
I'm just amazed this threads remained to be honest, I can't see how it offends your free speech -because it's still here! Which kind of disproves your mse complaints.0
