Fuming with marks and spencers - spoiled our Christmas Eve

This is the lesson to be learned.
As you had other things planned for Christmas Eve and there were the two weekend days between the time of ordering and arrival, you were cutting it fine.
These experiences are life-lessons for children - you can teach them to get upset and blame someone else or they can learn to change their own behaviour (ordering earlier) and realise that, in the grand scheme of things, presents arriving late isn't a major problem.
Heres my favourite post-still here0 -
Blimey, this thread is the gift that keeps on giving!January GC: £64.81/£80.00

Very sad that OP can't seem to take any personal responsibilty and learn lessons to make life easier for her and her daughter in the future. Blaming others for everything that goes wrong really isn't a pleasant life to lead.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

A few posts of mine seem to have dropped by the wayside, but then it is the holydays at the minute, so I'm not surprised.
If what was said earlier is true - i.e. that when the MSE team become aware they are legally responsible, does that mean that slanderous/libellous thread titles should also be edited (there was one recently which was that the RAC had abandoned a female driver, when the actual detail was that the RAC had offered to help a driver if they paid for the help. The driver refused to pay. at no time did the RAC "abandon" anyone and the gender of the person was not relevant as to whether they would have to pay for the help or not.)
To me that kind of thing, or even putting a question mark at the end of a title to try to get around the defamation is just as bad, yet it appears to be a popular way of doing things on here.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -

I was under the impression that M&S confirmed they would deliver in time for xmas?0 -
The rights and wrongs of this thread don't interest me - but it does seem that Marks and Spencers are alienating customers in all sorts of ways at the moment.
A lady was refused to be allowed to purchase a childrens bible story book by a staff member due to religious purposes, and their staff are now also allowed to refuse to sell Pork or Alcohol if it infringes on their religious beliefs. It really does amaze me - they are literally employing people who will not do the job for which they are paid. The opposite of what you know...is also true0 -

Ska lover, can you provide a link to prove that this is M&S policy? Even he daily hate story about it 2 weeks ago contained the sentence that it wasn't policy, but maybe the version you read had more facts I. It.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

It went to the wrong house because the address was wrong.
The OP was apparently very upset because they had to wait in for the parcel - which was with another family down the road - and couldn't follow their usual Xmas Eve traditions.
However, the OP's daughter was able to give the presents to her grandparents.
No parcel........ mid afternoon another person in the street come round with a M+S parcel - they didn't recognise the name, but asked around, - in their lovely wisdom M+S had missed one number off my house
eg instead of 36, they put 6 - now in this day and age I don't know half the people who live in the street.
I have had a really upset girl as she feels its her fault that she asked me to get her some presents, we needed to wait for parcel, there was no customer service, and it really upset us having to try to do trips in rounds so that there was someone here, really has spolit what was a family day,
Personally, I would never have left buying important gifts so late but everyone is different.0 -
The matter has now come to a successful end with Marks and Spencers - I have recieved an apology for the delievery mix up, and a goodwill gesture.xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
