    Hello,

I've tried searching but to no avail!

Ok I have a Linksys PAP2 (unlocked forever) winging its way to me.

I am looking to use Sipgate and VoipStunt to make and receive calls.

Sipgate for my number and also for calls in.
    VoipStunt for calls out.

So is there a set by step guide as to how to setup the Linksys PAP2 to hanlde this. My goal is to get it working like a "normal" phone (possibly need to sort out a dial plan?)

I have searched for a tutorial to setup for Sipgate AND voipstunt but no luck. Can someone please help!

Also what about calling mobiles, is it possible to use 18186?

    Many thanks in advance.
  • Hi

Thanks to this thread I have signed up to Vyke. What a brilliant service!

I noticed in the 2 pc-to-telephone calls I made today that there is a slight delay on my voice. Any other Vyke users noticed this, and is there anything I can do about it?

Other than that, the sound quality was great.

    Cheers

    Lesley
  • Just connected my voip phone to Vyke (via BT Home Hub) and I've also noticed a slight voice delay.

I am mulling Vyke, been using JustVoip via a PAP2 which gives 120 free days for £10 credit which is excellent.

I've got a HomeHub too, been trying to configure it for Voip. I was wondering if it is possible to use the HH as a wireless router and Voip together. The reason I ask is that I do not have a ADSL connection, I have a Cable ethernet modem from virgin, so can I plug in the ethernet into the Eth1 slot of the HH and get it acting as a wireless router and voip router?

You can use the HomeHub as a wireless router, and configure it for Voip as well (I use Voipstunt), but you need an ADSL feed. You can't simply plug the ethernet in from a cable ethernet modem.
  • The main article on the site about Voip is Martin's completely free calls from PC to PC article, which is the start point.

  • Does anyone know if you can register to make 999 calls with Justvoip. I've looked on the website but there doesn't seem to be any obvious option.

I know I can register for 999 with voip.co.uk but all my outgoing calls are via Justvoip so it would be easier to do it with them.

    Thanks

Just bought a Zoom 5821 ATA to try out this stuff. Its cheaper than the Linksys PAP2, but looks cheaper as well - it looks as if it may overheat. Still - it works fine and I am on sipgate and Justvoip. Its already paid for itself, and works well with my dect phones.

I don't use a SIP device I just use a USB headset and the PC because I like the fact it stores all my contacts in a list and all I have to do is click to dial them. But it is not fantastically reliable as quite often the call drops out or the speech stutters. Never sure if this is my connection or them, Caller ID used to work fine up until about a month ago using my mobile or landline numbers and verifying them.

Still no caller ID all these months on and its driving me nuts on justvoip.com. People think I am some salesman calling them as it says 'withheld'. I have verified the numbers countless times, reinstalled the client. Made sure it is set to show the verified number. If I set it to witheld in the client the number says, "not available". Set it back to my verifed number - it says "witheld" again. Emailed them but I don't expect a reply because you never do, they are useless. Zero customer service.

I have setup caller ID with justvoip but intially had the same problem after verfying my mobile via SMS I wanted my VOIP in number there instead. .I managed to set it up via the 'Your Profile' page, for my home phone number I got a automated call and a code. I entered the code and no problems.
