Can't get it working yet, is free to ring UK phone calls so I haven't bought any credits yet. Anytime I call a number I get other party has disconnected.
'Error Dialing' Call rejected by remote
Any ideas?0 -
You need to prefix your registered number with 18866 in the setup.
IE) 1886601210210021 , password your 18866 account number.
I think it is a mistake they are stating free phone number / incoming calls. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

When I used the username 18866 followed by my telephone number and my account number as the password, my 18866 account was charged £00.99.
When I used a completely made up username and password on registration, a voice told me that my account had run out of credit and needed topping up and a link is available on the voipbuster to increase your credit. I guess that to get the free phone calls you need to be in credit.

Their site is not very clear on what you get !
If you just register with your telephone number prefixed by 18866 and use the password as your account number you can dial out. Although it says it is ready to receive calls you do not have an allocated inbound number.
To receive calls you need to register a new account made up name and password then log in to their site and purchase credit - some where along this line you will get an 0845 number I believe.
However it is not possible with this software to have it so you can call out on 18866 and receive calls on the 0845 number.
also it is more expensive for your callers to call 0845 numbers instead of geographical numbers.
Your best bet if you want in and out calls is get xten-lite and a free geographical number (sipgate.co.uk), setup 18866 as the default and sipgate as the proxy1
18866 uses the iax protocol.
There are various threads on MSE and if you google you will find what you want.
I have xten-lite setup with 1899 as my default, my 2 sipgate numbers as proxy1 and 2, and 18866 as proxy 3.
this way I can chose either 1899 or 18866 for outbound calls and incoming to either of my sipgate numbers will be accepted.
If you have a router/NAT/firewall then you will have to set it up to accomodate port routings, again use google/sipgate.co.uk for more info.0 -

Same as VoIP Buster, good quality.
Prices are in pounds instead of Euros.
Only three free destinations instead of 25.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
