I've have a couple of the Betamax VoIP service, a few with local numbers, up until recently they had sent the number, however I also use a verified number and when the PAP2 is set to send the verified number as the CLID that still works. As I now have a landline again (due to VM offer - so not paying for it as such) and I still use VoIP I have my landline number sent as the CLID when I use VoIPStunt. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0

Another PAP2 user
Could you please tell me how to configure the PAP2 to show my home number as I also have a VM landline? That would be great as I could use the VOIP phone for outgoing and VM line for incoming.

If you are using one of the Betamax VoIP services, download the software phone, disable the line temporarily on the PAP2, log into your account on the softphone, you then get in the options the ability to add numbers (might have to enter in international format - +4420, +44121, etc), then you go into another menu and you can verify the number, the system calls your landline and you have to dial in the 4 digital code displayed on the softphone, once that is done you can hang up. It should show as verified.
You can then remove the softphone.
Then log back into the PAP2.
Under the Line details;
In User ID, enter your verified phone number, this can be in international format or standard UK format.
Set Use Auth ID to YES
Then enter your Betamax VoIP User ID into Auth ID.
You can then enable the line again.
It should then send your landline number when you use your Betamax VoIP account. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Fantastic. That worked, many thanks Bextech. I downloaded the Vyke app hoping to do the same with that account there doesn't seem to be that possibilty with them. I think that's the main down point of Vyke, not being able to link a DID or have CID working?0

Pleased you have it working. No no option on Vyke to do the same sadly. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... I have signed up to www.uknumber.co.uk and got a free DID number and that wouldn't work with voipbusterpro either. Vyke doesn't support DID numbers and doesn't offer an inbound service from PSTN numbers.
How have you found justvoip? Is it reliable otherwise? Did you get a DID number to work with it?
I never got uknumber to forward to the SIP address
You can sometimes buy an 0560 number from the Betamax brands for a one-off €1 fee0 -
I've been having this issue ever since I started using VOIP about a year or so ago and been trying to get it working. I've been using voipbusterpro (one of the Betamax companies) using both my Nokia N95 and PAP2 ATA device. Despite setting caller id etc. it never came up when calling people.

I don't use a SIP device I just use a USB headset and the PC because I like the fact it stores all my contacts in a list and all I have to do is click to dial them. But it is not fantastically reliable as quite often the call drops out or the speech stutters. Never sure if this is my connection or them, Caller ID used to work fine up until about a month ago using my mobile or landline numbers and verifying them.0 -
Linksys PAP2 can't make telephone to computer calls.
I have a couple of friends living overseas who call me on my Voipcheap telephone when my computer is not switched on. It been working okay for a year or more.
It's stopped working now, they can't call me, and I can't call them when utilising telephone to computer/computer to telephone calls.
If they call me, or I call them, using our computers, it works perfectly. So it must have something to do with the Linksys PAP2 setup. What is strange is that I can use Voipcheap to call normal landline numbers and when I go into the Linksys setup (without the Voipcheap programme running on my computer) it shows, Registration State:Online. But they on the other hand get the message that I am not online. When I tried to call them I just got an unobtainable tone.
Now, I don't know if this just coincidence or not and it has all happened since I changed over to AOL and started using their Router .
Any help here would be most appreciated.0 -
