I opened DH's microwaved pack of kippers this morning (he's not home til 10 tonight so I thought I'd feed him up) and noticed that there were 3 in there - for the princely sum of 56p. Given the nutritional value this could go a long way (if only DSx2 would eat them).
Has anyone ever based a meal on kippers out of these 'boil in the bag' packs? I'll do an internet search for recipes but I'm sure that someone out there will have a tried-and-tested.
i eat them quite a lot, but it tends to just be with toast and salad.
if the bones wont bother you i guess it could go in with some cooked rice in a sort of kedgeree thing, tho i've never done it (might do this week tho...)
oh you've made me want kippers now...Trying to be good, not always succeeding. :A:beer:0 -

DD - Darling Daughter, DH - Darling/Dear Husband. DS - Darling Son, the list is endless. When there's more than one son or daughter they become DD1, DD2, DD3 etc! :rotfl:

Can I make rice pudding with basmati rice?
Had a look but it all seems to say pudding rice which I can't find.0 -
Thanks for getting back to me so fast0

Yep. I do it all the time
The rice tends not to get quite as fluffy as pudding rice but it still makes nice pud.
If you find that you really don't like it - when cool, put some milk in your liquidiser, then add (some) of the rice pud and give it a good whizz. Makes a great ground rice pud! I often cook extra rice when doing curry or chilli just so that I can make thisHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
