Morning All,
First day of the school holidays here too. The sun is shining and the sky is blue it's flippin' freezin' though. Hung out the washing I couldn't get dry yesterday and another load in the machine. BM on doing a rapid bake, I cant wait for a long bake today my children will be "starving" soon.
Dw nearly full, so will put on after breakfast. Might walk into town today, I need to get a few things from the Health Food Shop, the children love it in there. I'm now trying not to use the central heating or the tumble drier, I usually do this 1st May to 1st October but with the price increases, I'm starting a couple of weeks early, does anybody else do this?
Hope that the hospital/dentist appointments go well for those with them.
For those working at home/work hope you have a good day.
For those on holiday enjoy!
Will hopefully pop back later, if I can get near the PC, think I'll have to do a timetable as all 4 children like to use it.MFW 1/5/08 £45,789 Cleared mortgage 1/02/13

Edinburghlass wrote:Does no-one elses hospital have the WI or Friends of the Hospital selling snacks? When I was in our Eye Hospital this week we were able to get lovely homemade rolls, scones, cakes etc at a very reasonable price with the profits going back to the hospital.
I remember that cans were 45p compared to 60p in the machines
we have a league of friends cafe and a WI cafe at our hospital and most outpatient depts have a League of friends kiosk too, they make big pots of tea and coffe and it's 30p a cup, all profits buy equipment for the hospitalI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Grrrrr, I knew there was something bad about not having Freeview (we're in a Channel 5 black spot). Ah well.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Morning all, woke up feeling quite good this morning so I'm going to venture out onto the garden, I'm just hoping I'm not too late for planting veggies but I'm putting cloches over it all so that might help. I've decided to buy my tomato plants from a local farm shop instead of growing them from seed.
DH has a major dentist appointment this afternoon so I think it's omlettes for tea againOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hello everybody,
I'm just about to go out shopping. We've had tea, HM Potato & Leek soup from the freezer with warm bread rolls. Custard & fruit for dessert. Just DD & me home so no need for the main course.I've had a busy day today. After cleaning the house out I"ve been packing.
DH & I decided that even if the house doesn't go through this time we will all move in a fortnight. It's too much expense keeping 2 households going and travelling backwards & forwards. We'll still keep this place on the market of course but it will be empty. We will give it 4 months and then if not sold rent it out. It's not what we want and hopefully on Wed we will hear good news and it's sold but we have to work out Plan B.
I was expecting DGS to visit today but they didn't come. I don't really know what to make of it. Work tomorrow. I will need to give in my notice. It's been a fantastic job and the people I work with have become *real* friends. If I get another one half as good I will be very happy. Well I better get to these shops. DH has our car so I have to car share with DD's car. Bit of a pain. I have written down small crunchie eggs to replace the ones that I ate last week.Have a great day everyone. Oooooh snow, how lovely.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Good morning to everyone!
Lovely bright frosty morning here - better than the huge hailstones that we had yesterday, though ds and his friends enjoyed walking the dog during the storm, not so sure that the dog appreciated it!
Still trying to empty cupboards and freezer, so will have to have a rummage in a mo to plan out lunch and dinner, big meal will be at midday as children and dh are all at home and I'm off to work tonight!
Best go and hoover a bit, prior to various parents arriving to drop off and collect children - hope the right ones end up in the right places!
Will try to pop back later if can claim the pooter from all the MSN addicts!
Have a good day everyone, and hope that all goes okay at the hospital P-P.GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Morning everybody :hello:
I am soooooooo glad it's a four-day week! It was one of those mornings today when I woke up just not wanting to get out of bed at all  At least I still managed to be OS before work- switched off the slow cooker which had been on overnight turning yesterday's cooking liquor into stock (will strain it this evening), and had a bowl of value porridge for breakfast. Don't know why I ever bothered paying for Oatso Simple! And one of the tubs I picked up for 25p at a charity shop on Saturday will be perfect for storing porridge oats.
Am trying to sound all virtuous and OS but didn't get ANY housework done at all this weekendPlace still looks like a bomb site, and I'm running out of clean clothes
and in this lovely "drying weather" too!
Thought I'd better get my MSE post in now because my boss isn't due in the office until a bit later
PP - sorry you had a bad night, and I hope it all goes according to plan at the hospital :grouphug:
:grouphug: too to anybody else who needs one
Just been handed £25 by the guy who organised the Grand National sweepstake  (my closest colleague came second with £10!) Thanks to this, plus underspending on a new DVD I'd wanted for ages, and sticking to my self-imposed strict budget last week, I now have a grand total of £47.69 in this month's pin money and it's only the 10th of the month! (It would be over £50 if I hadn't had to buy a new modem cable ) I'm trying to build it up as much as possible cos my wine racks are nearly empty and there's only £23 in my actual wine budget at the moment, which I will bump up to £53 next payday, so assuming I can keep the pin money unspent until the end of the month I will have enough for two decent mixed cases (as delivery costs are usually the same as for just one) which'll keep me going for the next 4 months or so. A good incentive to stay on the MSE wagon, I think you'll agreeand despite the fact I've had some good deals mailed to me lately, I'll keep my eyes open as ever for a better one
I doubt if I'll have much cash left over this week or next to add to it, so it's just a matter of making sure I don't spend any extra. First challenge this week is to spend nothing, or next to nothing, on groceries until Saturday when I should be able to find a good haul of reduced meat to fill up my freezer
Meanwhile, this evening I will be making a Thai chicken curry out of yesterday's leftovers
Gotta go, boss just walked in
