First attempt at whole chicken in SC had mixed results. SC is clearly a very good method of cooking chicken, gave it a lovely texture and meant that all the meat was easy to get off the carcass. However, the chicken itself (Tesco BOGOF) was about as flavourless as I've ever had. The leftovers will make a decent curry tomorrow, and when I do the other chicken from the BOGOF I'll use loads of herbs and garlic. But I think I've learnt my lesson. Next time I fancy a whole chicken I'll wait until I can afford a decent one  If I have a few quid left at the end of this month I'll see if I can get a nice free-range organic one at our new local farmer's market (the next one falls during my week off :D)

Well just had a real evening of forgotten pleasures! I used to love to bake, but stopped when I had to cut sugar from my diet and had a new oven to contend with. For the last few years I would just make the occasional treat for OH but haven't had any of the oven filling mega sessions that used to have me singing in the kitchen.

Did tonight! Thanks to all the fantastic sugar free, reduced or substituted recipes on here. Not sure how stuff will turn out, but it's been great fun messing with my wooden spoons and mixing bowls again icon7.gif Thanks peeps :smileyhea

Right, better go start rescuing things from the oven and finding places to put them all!
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

I've sorted my wardrobe and put all my handbags on the top shelf - I have 15 :o Oh, and I know where there is at least one more. To be fair, some were ones my mum gave me - that I've forgotten to get rid of at a charity shop and others have been presents (mainly unused) I've found a brand new one (from mum)that I shall ebay because I'll never use it - and another is a present FOR someone. Still ... :) And my shoes - I just never get rid of them as I'm not at all hard on them and they last forever. A lot are summer sandals and flip flop things - they don't count, surely? :D

However, I have now got the tidiest wardrobe going and have reaquainted myself with clothes I'd forgotten about. It also spurred Mr TM to sort out some of his old clothes so I have 2 bags for the charity shop and 1 for the textile bin at the tip :D

The banana muffins will have to wait until tomorrow :D

  • Morning Everyone!
Not a good night here and have been awake for the past hour:eek: We're supposed to be in for snow/sleet today:eek:  Dont have the needle nurse this morning but am at the hospital up london this afternoon so will have the pleasure of being stabbed then. Will take a flask and bottle of water and some snacks as it is extortionate up there.

Have 2 washloads to do and OH emptied the DW last night. Toilet will be cleaned soon too. House all clean and sparkly from friday. Floors could do with a good mop, so will ask OH later.

The lamb yesterday was delish and OH/DD enjoyed their film. DD went back to friends house and we didnt see her till 9.30 last night-she had a good time though and even tried a new pasta dish...which she said was OK:rolleyes: ....how come they never try it for u?! We have alot of spare lamb, roasties, yorkies and veg-so should be enough for lunch for DD & I before going to the hospital and OH can have his fav...Heinz Tomato soup with 4 thick bread and butters.

Anyway, best go and hope everyone has a great Monday!

    Breakie:Bacon Sarnie
    Lunch:Left over Roast Lamb dinner
    Tea:Large Cod/Chips between the 3 of us...yummy!!

    Morning PP, Morning everyone

Never got on OS at all yesterday, too busy

Popped to a car boot sale yesterday - the first time this year. Came home with a couple of little picture frames and two nice storage containers for the kitchen. It was bitterly cold so we didn't stay long.

Breakfast: oats, fruit & yoghurt, glass of orange
    Lunch: salad sandwich & apple
Dinner: HM Pizza with salad or veg

Have a lovely OS day everyone :D

'Morning Edingburgh Lass ... just spotted you

    Good Morning apple_mint

PP - Thanks for yesterday, as you can see, I'm not lurking really, this site is way to addictive for that :rotfl: Good luck at the hospital, good luck??? cant believe i typed that, but you know what I mean. Well done to your DD for trying new food, typical of kids to try it at some one elses house and not when you make it, or suggest it

Not got to much on today, everything was done over the weekend. So a nice relaxing day for me.

    B - Toast
    L - cheese sandwich, maybe
D - left over chicken from yesterday, will make a curry with it.

    Have a good day everyone

    Morning everyone.

Cold and frosty morning here. Really want to go back to bed but need to get ready for work.

As I am at work all day not much else happening. I leave at 7:30 then home around 6.15 so when I get in just want my dinner, do as little as possible and a sit down!

    Breakfast: fruit salad
Lunch: sundried tomato rolls with chicken/sweetcorn mayo, yoghurt and a banana
Dinner: chicken, carrots, parsnips, roast potatoes and maybe yorkshire pud.

Dinner is nearly all prepared. Chicken cooked and veggies peeled. Hubby in earlier than me so he will start the veg.

Anyhoo must get on as getting too comfy sitting here!

    Have a great day!
