Wow what a long thread today! Just flicked through briefly as I haven't the energy to read it properly  I usually do get like this on Sunday afternoons, my energy levels hold out just about to the end of morning service and then I flake out all afternoon :D Partly this is because I don't usually have much of an appetite on Sunday mornings  so don't eat properly.

Am watching Super Size Me which I taped off the TV the other evening.

Had to shell out £6.99 today because my modem cable went kaput  and wouldn't stay connected to the internet!

Currently making my first attempt at a whole chicken in the SC, using a combo of ideas from the recipe index. I cut a lemon into quarters and shoved it you know where, then just rested the chicken on thin slices of onion in the bottom of the SC and added about 1.5 inches of water laced with sherry. It is smelling yummy ATM! We'll have some of it tonight with spuds and peas, and tomorrow I will make a Thai curry as I popped into Lidl earlier for one of their fresh curry ingredient packs. Whatever's left will, I think, go into a pie.

    See y'later

I'm off work for a week now - which is fantastic. My Dad is coming over tomorrow to see DD and me - so that should be fun. although I've got my work cut out cleaning the house before he arrives at 10.00am  Never mind he's not as bad as the MIL ;)

Just enjoying a glass of wine before DD has her bath - then I can get in there and clean it :rotfl:

    Take care everyone

I've just had a chat with OH about our spending - ie where our money is going. We did a statement of affairs for ourselves and worked out how much we've got spare at the end of our bills etc. Unfortunately, there's an awful lot of money that is "disposable", but we have nothing to show for it!

So, tomorrow will be a brand new OS day for us both. Not scrimping, but making do with what we've got and accounting for where all our money goes.........

    Wish us luck :D

    Oh, good luck VickyA.

I wish I could get Mr TM to do that. I know how much I spend on groceries and other household bits n bobs, and I know how much I spend on other things and could quite easily keep a running total if I needed to. But Mr TM? Not a chance. Have money - spend it :(

    Afternoon Everyone,

Well, this afternoon I collected DS (aged 10) from his first cub adventure camp. I was really worried as he was quite apprehensive before he left and the weather here has been dreadful, heavy rain and hail. Anyway, Ipicked him up this afternoon and he has had a brilliant time. He has been shooting (air rifle), doing orienteering, caving and archery. They had spaghetti for tea and bacon butties for breakfast. He looked weary but he has rosy cheeks and looks happy. So much for being worried!

I haven't done much this weekend as I was working on Saturday until about 2pm. Then I came home, did a few jobs and went to bet at 9.30pm. I was exhausted, I must have needed the sleep as I only woke up this morning at 9.30am. I have been having problems with an aching back over the past few days. Not slipped disc type pain, more muscle pain. I think we will turn the matress tonight to see if that makes any difference.

We are off to a local trendy pub for tea this evening for a two meals for £10 offer. We have to be there by 7.30pm so I must get moving soon.

I have some items on ebay that I listed last week on the free gallery day. All items have watchers but no bids as yet. Hopefully some will sell as OH is weary of my clutter.

    Have a good evening everyone!

Thanks TM. To be honest, I'm not overly convinced that OH will do everything that we have talked about. I think he thinks that it's yet ANOTHER thing that I've picked up from this site :D

We would eventually like to buy our own house, but mortgage repayments would be higher than our current rent.................. unless we buy somewhere that resembles/is a cardboard box! So, we need to save up..... and we're getting married so need some spare cash for our honeymoon spending as well as buying presents for bridesmaids etc.

OH relies on me to tell him what he's cooking for supper!

Still loved, still missed and very dear

    Evening all!

I just wanted to say that I got home from self-defence thingy and I really enjoyed it, it has inspired me to want to take up some form of exercise. So im going to go off in a second and have a look for something that appeals to me.

The end was quite scary as we all had to go into a room by ourselves with our 'attacker' in a role play thing - and had to fight him off. It was fun! I used my new found skills and really do feel a lot more confident about handling myself in a dodgy situation (fingers crossed I never need to use it).

This evening im going to flake out on the sofa as im pretty exhausted now, but ive decided to iron my work stuff first as i feel that I wont get up again once ive relaxed!

Hope you all had a great day!

    Hi All,

Had a bad night with DS waking up screaming a few times. He went back to sleep eventually! Did some shopping at morrisons this morning and then went mattress testing! Have found a really nice mattress for £200 but need to save up a bit more money though for it. Have had a clean up down stairs and did salad for tea. Hope you've all had a good weekend. Roll on Monday...

    Take care all - POwie
