LCS chasing outstanding water bill
Just seeking some advice or to find out if anyone has received something similar. I received a letter from LCS based in Leeds. They want me to pay an outstanding Thames Water invoice for a flat I own. I came close to paying on-line as looked legitimate and they had correctly quoted the time period that the flat was…

Single Occupier
I know you get a 25% for single occupier on council tax, but I wondered if you did on water rates too. I've noticed something on the Brighton & Hove website that indicates this, but I'm in a different area of the country.

Yorkshire Water inflation query
I've just received a letter from Yorkshire Water saying "the average bill will rise by 2.06%... [which] is below the rate of inflation at 2.19%" I can't reconcile this claimed inflation figure with official ONS figures that put the current CPI at 1.8% and the RPI at 2.6%. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I have just moved into a property that does not have a meter. It is with Affinity Water and there are 2 people in the household and it is a 2 bed property. The bill for the year is £285.67. On the Affinity Water website it advises that the average non metered customer in our region can expect a yearly bill of £174.…

Neighbour shares water supply - all water through my meter
We recently contacted our local water board as our water usage was very high. They came out & said it must be a leak, didn't turn off stopcock etc. We had a plumber investigate further & it seems that our neighbour's supply runs off ours & has a shared stopcock (in my bedroom!). We also have an outside stopcock. There is…

Water Bills - Rateable Values
I am wondering if someone can help me clarify water bills and how they are calculated with the rateable value of your home. My current provider - Severn Trent No meter - paying £735.50 per year on direct debit My property rateable value is showing 597 (don't know where this figure comes from) and then x 123.2 pence. I have…

My water meter reading seems very high...what to do?
I moved into a new property 3 months ago - a Victorian terrace. I had a water meter installed on 7 November. Although I own the house I am rarely there and spend 2/3 nights a week there, and I work during the day. The water company estimated my bills to be around £15 p/m. I'd say I take around 2 showers a week there, 2…

Property Damage
Hi All, Felt compelled to create a login to ask if anyone ever had experience with a water company needing to damage their own property to perform maintenance? I was contacted a couple of weeks ago by my utility company to be informed that there was a blockage in a drain that serves my street, under the pavement nearest my…

No water bill for a number of years....
Hi All, A number of years ago (nearly 12), I moved into a new build flat. Since moving in, I haven't had a water bill! Thought it was about time to get it sorted.... When I moved in, I called the waste water co. to set up account. They couldn't set the account up as it was waste water, and until my supplier had set up an…

Sewerage bill (Wessex Water) much higher than water bill
Hi. First time poster but a frequent visitor. Reason for my posting is that I noticed my Sewerage bill is way more than my water bill, is this normal for Bournemouth residents? I live in a 3 bedroom end terrace (built in 1986). 2 adults and a child. Bills are paid through direct debit. My bills for 2017 - 2018 are as…

Payment card refund
Hi, I hope someone can help me... I've recently received a payment card from South East Water to pay off some debt I owe. I'm on a court order to pay £51.00 a month. I have really stupidly just gone to pay £130.00 on my rent payment card and mixed my cards up (both blue) and instead of paying £130 to my rent paid £130 to…

Issues with Southern Water (waste water)
Hi All, This is my first time posting... I live in a stand alone new build (not on an estate). Originally when we moved in Southern Water were charging via a meter £20.40 per month and the fresh water supply (South East Water) charged £20.00 per month. After 3 months Southern Water increased the amount to £30.80 per month,…

Water meters?
Coming round to the idea of getting a water meter installed purely for the moneysaving benefits. Currently pay around £250 half yearly for water and waste. Household is the 2 adults and infant. Understanding i could be saving a good chunk of money. I just dont like the idea of being charged based on usage for water. A few…

You might not like this....
This is for men only! A question for you. What is the essential difference between peeing into a urinal and peeing into a hand-wash basin? Essentially none. You can flush the basin afterwards (which you can't do with a urinal) and it might even be better.because you can choose exactly how much to flush. And if it seems a…

Excessive rateable value
I'm just wondering if anyone knows how or if we can challenge/change our rateable value on our house to get our water bill reduced. Our rateable value is really high compared to neighbours. We live in a semi detached. We have a two-storey extension in comparison to other houses on our road - bathroom and kitchen. However…
