Moving Home - Water

We are about to move home and I am going through the process of telling utility companies etc about our move. On Severn Trent Water's (SWT) website there are two tags: one, for moving within the area and, two, moving outside of the area. We are in the latter category.

I was trying to fill details of our move out online when I was confronted with three questions: a request for a forwarding address; confirmation of responsibility for water at the new address and a start date. Being a complete pedant, I refuse to give SWT information that they do not need to know. Having got nowhere on chat, I gave up and gave SWT a call. The guy at the other end asked me for two things: a move out date followed by a request for a meter reading on the day we move out. 'What about a forwarding address' I asked? 'No need' was the reply 'for online accounts we manage all final billing advice by e-mail'.
