Scotland inspiration please
We'd like to go to Scotland mid august as kids keep saying they want to go. They say they want to go as it's beautiful, but I think they'd like to practice their Scottish accents! We have about 12 days. We're driving up from the south coast. Would love some itinerary ideas please about places to go, things to do, good…

Booking centre parcs
Could anyone give me some tips? Wanting to go next year, it's £55 to book the closest area to the plaza. I see they don't tell you your lodge number anymore, is it allocated on arrival now? If we got there early would be able to ask for a key near the plaza from the pot of keys or are they already in the folder to give…

Travelodge: -Never- book breakfast before you stay
I've recently been stung by the cowboys at Travelodge regarding a breakfast booking on one of their saver rates. They make the fact that the hotel booking is non-refundable (they don't even refund it when you find urine on the bed sheets btw), but at no stage do they make it clear that any extras you bought in advance also…

Log Cabin
Currently considering an idea to build a log cabin in Wales and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with a business like this? The Cabin will be at a high standard and sit on owned land, it is important to know I'm not going for a cabin that you'd see on a caravan park, but one that will be well thought through an…

Question over safety in holiday cottages
Hi all I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about any H&S regulations covering holiday cottages? And/or the owners of holiday lets being obliged to inform guests/renters of any H&S 'issues' in their lets? My OH rented a cottage in the south-west for a week. The owners had the cottage on a holiday website and…

Macdonald Hotel offers
Q. When is an offer not an offer? A. When you get overcharged I recently had a short break with Macdonald Hotel, winderemere and have been left very confused about the dinner offer, see below. Cultureless phillistine. Help for day outs in London please.

Cinema Chain takes cash but does not issue tickets
We purchased 2 cinema tickets using the Picture House website. I then had to authorise payment using our Monzo Bank app..which meant we had to move away from our desktop and find the phone. When the phone was found, I authorised payment and assumed that, as usual we would receive tickets by email. It was only in the day of…

Hotel bill fiddles
This grinds my gears... When I book a hotel, I usually ask for a price for bed, breakfast & dinner. A couple of months ago, I booked a lovely hotel in Torquay for three nights. Every dinner the waiter would come to the table with the menu, and tell us about the chef's 'specials'. These sounded lovely, so we ordered them on…

Terms and Conditions - UK Holiday
Hi - I'm new to this forum so hope I'm posting in the right place and am posting the right sort of thing. I recently wrote to a well known UK holiday company after a disastrous camping holiday, with a number of complaints. They have acknowledged that everything I have said in my letter is true in relation to all the…

Travel lodge price variation
Morning Does anybody know the reason for this. Was looking at one in London yesterday lunchtime and it was £50, I couldnt book as had not confirmed arrangements, but now the same room is £190. Could this be down to more people looking at a weekend? Wondering if its worth waiting until Monday or just booking somwhere else.
