Year long tours?
I know this isn't quite moneysaving... but has anyone heard about the year long tours? My hubby is off to Iraq in May, it's been on the cards for a while. But he's just recently found out that the tour may be a year long instead of the usual 6 months(ish). He's been told that most of them will do 2 month stints, so go…

Hi guys! I spotted this notice whilst rummaging around in the Tiff Archives... I'm sorry if someone's already posted it. I may try a couple of places as it's hard to know exactly where to place this post, so apologies in advance if you should trip over it again. ''Have you been physically disabled while serving in the…

4 year bonus
Just a quick one, my husband was entitled to sign for his bonus a year ago but decided not to as he thought that if he left it when he does finally leave the army that will be included in his lump sum or would then get it tax free, i'm sure he was told wrong so is it best he finally goes and signs for it now rather than…

Splitting up when in a MQ overseas, and kids in Service school
Can anyone help, please - what happens? My step-kids (I'm their step-mum) are about to find out the hard way and they're currently in Germany. Their step-dad is the soldier who has moved out, so I'm guessing there's some form of 93-day rule on the MQ, but it's also their schooling that's going to be affected. Thanks.

Credit reports and the living-in serviceman...
AS I hope we're all well aware, credit checking agencies collate various bits of public domain gen on us to put into their reports, 'pon which finance companies base their decisions whether or not to offer us their products. Skys £60 moving fee on posting
Just about to move from a quarter to a private hiring which has no Sky dish. Phoned up Sky to tell them that I was moving and they said that will be £60. I said the installation charge was only £30 when I moved in so why is it £60 now? Because they send an engineer round. I said that is exactly what they did for £30 11…
