    Hi

It is possible to have an army wedding, I haven't organised any myself but know someone who is ex army and is now a wedding planner that does. I can find out from her what you need to do if you want me to?

    Oh and congratulations too.
  • Cheers that would be fantastic if you could!
  • yes you can have an army wedding, i take it him wearing his army uniform, maybe using the garrison church?
  • Its my fiancee that is in the army not myself.

Lee - I have tried to contact my chum but she is away at the mo:rolleyes: However, I googled military weddings and came up with this site and to be honest a lot of it rings a bell e.g. asking the commanding officer for permission to marry.

This will give you some idea of what needs to be done.

I feel that I must thank you too because your request has highlighted my lack of knowledge with regard to military weddings so now I have ordered a book from Amazon to add to my ever growing collection of wedding books.:D

Lee I used the Army when i got married when I was serving in Cyprus.....very very simple to do

The cookhouse sorted out the food and cake (made it into a tank)

Army Pardre did the wedding at the garrison church (he also sorted the flowers for free)

QM's sorted out uniform for all my lance guard (lads carried lancers as I'm in a Calvary Regt)

The CO lent me his work car with his driver (big posh jeep)

Adv Trg officer sorted out a 5 star hotel for £22 quid a night (it was the top hotel in Cyprus)

The photographer was the Regt media officer so it got in the papers as well

and it was a brilliant day

Oh and I paid for all my friends and family to go Go-Karting instead of the usual food and dance.....much more fun

All she has to do is speak to people
If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right
  • What do you want? You will be able to use the Army chapel depending on where you are based.
Your Uniforms which brings the cost down rather hiring suites.
Are you in a Mess, if so it can be very reasonable to have a reception there about £9 per head for a 2 course meal and or course a cheap bar.
Also depending on who you serve with you can get for free or very cheap the band, tumpeters, horse and carriage, string quartet, the list is endless

Also as soon as you have the date look into what MQ you can get
