Old Boys! Have you claimed your pension??
A few years ago I helped out the FIL who was a Veteran of the RN. He had left the RN in 1978 but didn't realise that when he reached 60yrs old he was entitled to claim a Forces Pension. They won't come looking for you, if you don't claim it, you won't get it. He is no speedy bullet, but isn't without his faculties either.…

FH2B with intent to Holiday Let
Apologies if this is incorrect format for this forum, however. I'm looking at getting a mortgage and wish to make use of the forces H2B scheme. I intend to let the property out for 16 weeks of the year as a holiday let. Is there anything stopping me, as a first time buyer, using the FH2B scheme and doing this? TIA Harrier3

The only thing he has is an ATM card as he always uses cash, anything online I always use my card for him.

Reduced State Pension
I retired from the Army in 2014 after 35 years service. I have 40 years contributions to the state pension, but these years are reduced due to the fact I have an army pension. I was unaware about this until I asked for a state pension forecast. Having researched this, I understand the logic but wish someone had told me…

Hi, I took advantage of the Forces Help to Buy loan 9 months ago, and am currently filling in a self assessment tax return. Question: should I be declaring the loan on the return for tax purposes, or is it taken through an adjusted tax code? Really appreciate any advice or experience with the same issue. Thanks.
