Penpals
Hi all A few years ago I was a penpal to people in our armed forces and I’d love to do it again. does anyone know how to go about this? Be it websites or addresses. I’ve tried sites like forcespenpals but due to the current climate I honestly can’t even afford £5 per month to speak to people! Plus I would prefer a good old…

Military discounts in New York
Hi, I just wondered whether anyone has travelled to New York recently and has used their MOD90 to get discounts on entry to attractions/museums etc? I know the US used to be good for helping Coalition troops and wondered if this was still the case? Many thanks.

Audi on Demand
Having driven to Scotland from Cornwall and back at Half Term I realised what a pain it was going so far. The destination is definitely worth it. Even though it's nice to be able to take a good few changes of clothes for outdoor activities and even take my own mountain bikes, the length of time driving spoils it. So…

I retired nearly 5 years ago on the 75 scheme. 24yrs Army My query is, is there as estimate of how much the pension is likely to go up by when I turn 55. I.e by 50% as opposed to a figure as they're all different? Also, do we get a lump sum also on the 75 scheme. My forecast from the mob never informed me of such but…

Armed Forces: Manchester Metrolink
Afternoon all, I’m not sure if this is common knowledge or even been on this forum before. However, something that I have recently discovered is that for those currently serving in the Armed Forces recieve free travel across the Manchester Metrolink System Monday-Friday (0930-0000) and all day weekends when the present…

Cruise lines benefits
This is probably not breaking news to most - but some cruise lines offer free OBC (on board credits) for military veterans. This is spending money added to your cabin account which can be used to offset purchases made whilst onboard - drinks, duty free and goods from the shops and ship organised excursions ashore etc. To…

Can you be added to a council tax bill?
Currently looking to buy a place of my own and until then, I stay at my parents when I'm home on weekends, leave periods etc. The forces offer a 'get you home' travel allowance, but to be eligible you have to provide proof of 'financial commitment' to the qualifying residence. One of the requirements is to provide a…

Hello. This is quite a strange one, I was hoping I could find someone somewhere who could help! I'm currently abroad in Falkland islands. Due to being at an Overseas postcode, we are entitled to claim VAT back on certain goods. Amazon are usually very good for this. I order something, I send an email to their VAT returns…
