Nationwide Regular Saver
My Nationwide regular saver matured yesterday and today it is showing as an instant access saver. However, when I tried to open a new one today I am told I cannot open a new one as I already have a regular saver. How long do I need to wait? One year ago I had no problem opening a new regular saver the day after maturity.

Tips for not obsessively checking investments
2 weeks ago I took the plunge and converted the vast majority (80%) of my Cash ISA savings into a S&S ISA. The total sum is close to 6 figures. I'm invested mainly in a 80/20 fund and have done my research on volatility, so I know what to expect if there's a crash. I'm in this for the long haul and don't foresee any need…

Panic Mode
Basic rate Tax payer with £11400 income above personal allowance . Yesterday I decided to Sell £24000 worth of shares in my AJ Bell Sipp . I assume AJ will deduct 20% Tax off this sum before it appears in my Cash account . Am I correct in thinking this or have I got it wrong?

Ascot Lloyd and Avellemy (now Ascot Lloyd)
Hello all, I have my investments with Fidelity, through my IFA - Ascot Lloyd. The vast majority of my investments are through funds under the Avellemy name. I notice that Ascot Lloyd have now bought out Avellemy and the funds have been renamed - e.g. IFSL Ascot Lloyd 5 C Income (Restricted Fund) replaces the old Avellemy…

Should I use our ISA allowances?
I know, that’s a strange question to which the answer should be yes of course. But here’s my scenario. My wife and I each have a s&s ISA in which we hold mostly equity funds plus some significant “cash” in mmf or bond fund format. We also have significant cash in various ea and fixed bank deposits (approx four years) as…

So much money
I wonder if a) anyone else has noticed so many new threads on spaces like this forum and similar forums on reddit where the starting point is that the poster has 6 figures and don't know what to do with it. b) Is this 'normal' that so many people in the world at the same time suddenly have so much money, whilst so many…

Opening a RS
Just curious to know what everybodys criteria / cut-off point is in terms of opening a RS... I'm relatively new to RS. Atm I have the Principality 7.5% RS and the Zopa 7.1%. I had initially thought that I'd start with these two, and then open any more that were 7%+ Starting to realise that that's maybe too optimistic and…

Effect of Reducing hours and hourly rate on NHS Pension
I worked full time in a permanent role for the NHS from 2007 to June 2024. Rising to middle management. However, I hit burnout and instead of taking +++sick leave I chose to leave my permanent role and take a lower graded bank (zero hours) position. The intention being to try to recover from my burnout but still earn a…

B&B shares
If I rebuy shares sold <30 days ago, is the gain/loss from that initial sale ignored for CGT purposes, with CGT instead calculated against the original purchase price when I eventually sell the shares? Meaning that if the share price rose during the days I did not own them, I would pay CGT on a gain I didn't benefit from?

Advice with Savings
Hi, I started an ISA in May and have maxed that out. In April next year, can I keep the same ISA account or transfer it to a different company as well as open another ISA and not pay tax on that too? From what I've read, it's important to transfer the 25/26 ISA to keep that years allowance, is that right? I have enough…

Tiered Interest Rates.
Periodically I like to check the rates on my "unused" accounts. Just logged into Oxbury and noticed my rate is 0% (due to only having £1 in it). Not a problem I thought, other companies do the same and I just need to locate their rates for NLA accounts. Couldn't locate it so using chat I was advised of the rate for my easy…

Does eToro supports Recurring Buys
Hi, I'm thinking to start investing using eToro and I was wondering if anyone here know if the platform supports Recurring Buys? I'm thinking something like setting a certain amount of money to use everyone week/month to buy assets. Tried to find that option on the platform but without success though I'm really new to…

Nationwide Flex Regular Saver 6.5% AER (variable)
Hi All, I'm new to this form, and have just seen another thread similar but not with the details as per title. I can't find anything to match this, or better on MSE, understand its not fixed, and only allows 3 withdrawals per year(after 4 reduces to 1.05% AER), with max £200 a month. Any thoughts or advice before I take…

New to Gilts. I have a few questions before buying.
I discovered gilts yesterday, so I've been doing a bit of research on them. They seem too good to be true, so I want to check with people who have bought them to see if I'm missing something. I pay tax on my bank interest and have quite a bit of money in bank accounts. My current plan is to buy about £80,000 of gilts at 0%…

Beware Atom Instant Saver Reward!
Please note that monthly interest paid on this account (currently 4.85% AER @ 8th November 2024) is paid back into the saver and NOT into your connected bank account. If you want access to this interest (leaving your savings amount untouched), you have to make a withdrawal - in which case your interest rate drops to 3.25%…
