Money from offshore trust
Hi, just looking for some advice. I've recently been informed that I'm due to inherit some money from an offshore trust, legally this distribution isn't classed as inheritance - I believe it will be a combination of income or capital gains. As it's coming from the channel islands to the UK I'm assuming there's going to be…

We will have a large sum of money £700K plus for about 2-3 months in between houses. The money will initially be paid into a Lloyds bank savings account. I am looking for a good place to park this money pending the purchase of the new house. Is there a standard rule across banks for how much you can transfer in and out - I…

Where is the safest place to save all my pin numbers and passwords?
At the moment I have them written down and hidden in the home but realise they are in danger if we have a fire or break in [ unlikely I know but could happen]. I am a bit wary of saving them on my computer or online. Any suggestions?

Is it better to give money direct to grandchildren, or give the money to children?
We have two children (both adults with children). We want to give money to our grandchildren. It would be easier for us to give the money to our children, so that they can pass it on to their children, but i think I heard it is better to give the money directly to the grandchildren. Is this correct? Why?

Trading 212 vs Conister Bank
I have around £20k in a Trading 212 account which is currently at 4.61% (4.35% + 0.26% promo rate). However I'm aware this may drop soon due to the interest rate change. Having received MSE weekly email today, the best 1 year fix is at 4.52% with Conister Bank. Would you consider switching to this considering the…

Harpenden Building Society
I thought I should do a little due diligence before potentially opening a savings account with them as I'd never heard of them before. Seems they are Fscs protected, but notice that although on the FCA list, they are not permitted to hold client money. How can they offer savings accounts/ ISAs and not hold client money?…

Coventry Prize Draw
I don't know how anyone might know so it's probably silly even to ask, but I was wondering how many Loyalty Regular Saver accounts were opened with Coventry BS and therefore entered into the prize draw for 50 £1,000 prizes. 5% wasn't the greatest offer so perhaps very few took it up and I might win!! On the other hand,…

Beating passive trackers?
There is - at least in the papers I read - an advert which is simplicity itself. The main text is:'I aim to maximise your ISA investment by signifiantly outperforming passive tracker funds.'This is an open invitation, so I compared this fund to Vanguard's Global All Cap Index. It didn't do too badly, but it's more volatile…

Getting into the market
Hi all I have an inheritance in the pipeline and I'll be maxing out my ISA allowance. I think it'll be after the end of this financial year. I'll be saving with a stocks and shares ISA, and I wondered what people's thoughts are on the best way to load up the ISA: 1. Dump the 20k straight in and get the investment going at…

Looking for Advice: Change in Investment Management After Firm Buyout
My long-standing financial advisor recently retired. Despite the ups and
downs of the markets over the years, they consistently helped me stay on track
and achieve both my retirement and investment goals. Since their retirement, I’ve been working with a new advisor within the same
firm, and overall I've been happy with the…

De-risking S&S ISA prior to house purchase
Hello, thought I'd garner opinions on here about de-risking S&S ISA before using the money as a deposit on a house. Scenario is about £50k held in HL ISA and LISA (approx £25k in each), currently invested in global equity trackers. Looking to use the money as a deposit on a house in about a year's time. So therefore…

With the recent volatility and over priced USA stocks it has made me think about the allocation and if holding such a large amount in Ftse All share/S+P tracker is diversified enough.
