Egg credit card , said I ticked box
Hi, I applied to egg for a refund and was informed that I did have ppi but had ticked the box to request it. Apparently there was two boxes and I ticked yes so my claim was rejected. This was in 2003. Has anybody had this response?. I think I will write in requesting proof of this paperwork.

HSBC offering bank charges refund
I have been receiving charges from HSBC on a regular basis for some years. I had been relying on their text alerts to let me know when I had gone over my overdraft limit and then paying money in if I had it to bring my account back within it's limit. I called them this week to question that I hadn't received a text to tell…

Am I too late to claim back excessive credit card charges?
Hi I had some problems with a credit card some years ago, partly because of the huge charges they were adding when I got into trouble. It made me really ill each time I had to phone or write to them, and once I had paid off everything I tried to put the whole issue out of my mind. I feel the charges were unfair and…

Bank charges - hardship
Hi new to posting here - but have followed over the years. I actually got to the stage of having a court date set for hearing of bank charges - when block on reclaiming was put in place several years ago. Have therefore felt particularly aggrieved re charges. I have recently been diagnosed and had major surgery with regard…

PPI wording on credit card statement
I have two credit cards with Halifax Bank of Scotland both that have repayment recovery charges. I've searched on google and realize that it doesn't always say PPI but can't find anywhere if recovery payment is indeed PPI. I also read on several reclaim PPI sites that you may need some sort of plan to protect if your made…

Mbna ppi surprise.
Back in november 2013 MBNA wrote to me saying they were not upholding my complaint regarding the mis-selling of ppi on my credit card account. However yesterday i received a letter from MBNA stating that after periodically reviewing my case they have now offered me £1026.11 as full and final settlement on my account. Good…

Lloyds loan PPI claim, how far back?
Hello, I had 3 loans with Lloyds from 1998-2001, and at least 2 of these had PPI. Can anyone tell me if they have successfully claimed with Lloyds for this far back? Unfortunately I no longer have any documents for the loans. Thank you.

PPI reclaim following cancer recovery
Hi, Can anyone help? I have PPI on a credit card which I want to claim back. I had a cancer diagnosis and treatment five years back (and have made a full recovery thankfully). I was off work for two years and I did not make any claims against my PPI. I wasn't actually aware that I could do so which, in hindsight, was very…

Represented cheques
We were given a cheque by a customer, who accidentally missed out a digit when writing the date. We asked our bank (HSBC) if the cheque was acceptable and they said it should be OK. However, a few days later, the customer called in to say that her Bank (Lloyds TSB) had contacted her to say that the cheque was null and void…

Halifax overdraft passed to debt collectors
Hello, wondered if someone can help. I had an account with Halifax that went in to overdraft. I moved flat and was unaware that a small payment had taken it into overdraft. I was unaware until a few months later when I realised there was £100 in charges that had piled up. The account has been closed and passed to a debt…

ppi confused
Hi there Can anyone help? I previously claimed PPI from an old bank loan and this was quite a plain and simple process. I then tried to claim PP1 on an old credit card but was refused. I am sure I also paid PPI on another credit card and on a previous car HP but I have no details to work from as I destroyed all paperwork I…

Success - Barclays Additions Active Account
Hi I was sold an Additions Active Account by Barclays in 2011. I always thought that I wasn't sold what I was explained - I was told that my monthly costs would reduce and they didn't, and I never used any of the benefits that came with the account. The account held my student overdraft of £2500 and I couldn't afford to…

Scary Santander
I have a fairly huge overdraft with Santander, and don't get me wrong, I've been grateful for it at times. I haven't reduced it as I've been unsuccessfully self-employed and now I've given up and claimed Job seekers allowance. It charges me £20 per month for my authorised overdraft. I rang up to discuss getting bank…

Lloyds Bank refusing to refund Bank Charges
I don't mean to upset anyone who's annoyed with seeing repetitive posts about Bank Charges but I could really use some constructive advice about what to do next. After seeing lots of people successfully claiming back their bank charges I decided I would try my luck as in the last 4 years Lloyd's have taken almost £2000 in…

Offer Dispute - worth pursuing?
Barclays made me a relatively small offer earlier in the year. I didn't agree with it and so contacted them to discuss, the lady I spoke to wasn't helpful at all and wasn't prepared to re-look at the offer. I felt disgruntled but didn't feel it was worth pursuing so I cashed the cheque. I still don't feel happy about what…

Financial Ombudsman have lost my paperwork!
I recently received an email from the Financial Ombudsman stating that during the changeover to their new their new "system", all my PPI claim information had been lost. Although extremely apologetic to me, the FOS did not offer any solutions and simply told me to re-submit all my PPI claims, which I originally submitted…
