Hi Guys,
Hope you can help.
have just been sent all of my old statements from Halifax where i had been charged about £1200 after losing my job, any way the short and tall of it is that i have completed the form on here and sent it Halifax, along with a copy of all of the statements.
Anyway today i get a call from Halifax saying its a 'no' as they only go back 6 years, but as i said they managed to find a copy of all of my statements for this account only 3 weeks ago, so how can they not have records???? i have said on the phone that i will probably have to go through the ombudsman to try and claim and got no reaction. the lady did say that she would send me a letter to say its a no.
I have a genuine financial reason for claiming as i am stuck with a lot of debt which i cannot clear.
am i barking up the wrong tree?
i just can't help but feeling that back then they just helped me sink further rand further into debt and now that i have the statements as proof, surely this is enough to pursue a claim??
Also on this account o had 2 loans, one for £6750 & £11750, which i know I am sure i had PPI on, so can i claim these? and whilst we are on it can you claim PPI back on a mortgage? these are also back to 2003

The FOS no longer rule against banks on bank charges. So, it wont be a concern for them. On CURRENT financial hardship cases they would encourage the bank to treat you fairly but if this is HISTORIC charging then you are totally reliant on the goodwill of the bank.i just can't help but feeling that back then they just helped me sink further rand further into debt and now that i have the statements as proof, surely this is enough to pursue a claim??
No. Surely, you were the one doing the spending?and whilst we are on it can you claim PPI back on a mortgage?
You can if you have a valid complaint reason but MPPI complaints are mostly rejected (unlike loan and credit card PPI where most are upheld).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

May I suggest if you really are in such a position that you visit the Debt-Free Wannabe board and post your SOA there (all details on how to do that can be found on that board)
I'm sure you will then receive some good advice to help you on your way
