Direct trains between Manchester and Bristol
Pre-pandemic I used to travel occasionally between Manchester and Bristol, always on direct trains (and usually they were very busy). Now there doesn't seem to be any direct trains at all. Anyone know why?

Train journey with multiple providers changed date
Hi there, I have a booking to get on a LNER train on Friday, however because of the weather they have told me to travel on Thursday. Part of my journey to get into London is through greater anglia, would they accept my Friday ticket as well? I paid for the ticket with both providers through LNER.

Can ANYONE help with UBER.
Hi all, Mods, I couldn't find the best location for this - so pls move if necessary. I don't live in an area covered by Uber, but I did use the app for taxi's when in London. About 18months ago, I started getting calls from Uber drivers and Uber Eats when I hadn't ordered food/cabs, when I wasn't even in London. I went…

Hi does anybody know how to get a vehicle plate excluded from the rotherhithe as the van I drive is so small that it is inside the sizes and weight . They issue PCN's and will cancel them once you go though the process , however as a 6 day user that need to use it 6 days a week currently going around via Tower bridge and…

Potential Off peak ticket rail changes
Can’t read the full article but there is a potential change to the off peak times to replace the cliff edge change at around 9.30 to a sliding scale. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/off-peak-fares-leave-the-station-as-rail-firms-eye-ticketing-shake-up-g3g6d05lp Personally I’m not in favour - I use this and a railcard to…

What are the best resources searching for best value train & coach tickets?
I want to search by month for the cheapest available tickets rather than by a specific out and in day or time. Any suggestions of resources to do this?

Best rail card
My daughter will be 18 in October. She currently travels by train to her 6th form college and at the moment uses the 16-17 rail card. My issue is that a full price ticket is approx £11.00 and she needs to be there for 9.00am, soo no other rail card will work. I feel that she will be penalised financially simply because she…

New Rule H2 Highway Code - giving way to pedestrians
It's always been the case that, if turning into a junction, you have to give way to pedestrians who have already started crossing the road at that junction. Mostly I cycle, rather than drive, and that rule has seemed fine. But now, new Rule H2 states: "Rule H2 - Rule for drivers, motorcyclists, horse drawn vehicles, horse…

Flexi-Season Ticket - How to get an 'activated' journey reset if train is cancelled?
I have a First Great Western Flexible season ticket. The ticket gives 8 journeys and each one is 'activated' as you go though the barriers as you enter the station. Before the barriers there isn't much info on the train status (they just say the time they are due or expected, not if there is a major issue). So twice I have…

Wembley Stadium gigs - Tube/train options
Hi, I bought my wife tickets to a Coldplay gig at Wembley for Christmas, and booked us into a hotel near Euston station. I was assuming there would be public transport options from Euston/Kings Cross, and Wembley's own website encourages use of public transport to get there. However now I've had more of a look I'm not sure…

Avanti West Coast -release of tickets
Morning all, Am looking to book a return ticket from Manchester to London for 23rd/24th April - which by my reckoning is now less that 12 weeks away, but they aren't yet showing on the Avanti West Coast website. In fact, this image would suggest that although weekday tickets are available to book, there are no weekend…

[rant] single journey fares are like a rip off that I start to think about getting a car
I'm here ranting about how rip-off the public transport single journey fares here in the UK, so I'm considering if it will be worthwhile for me to buy a car as I'm now spending approximately about £100 per month in transport. I currently use a bus monthly ticket at £61 per month, but in effect I normally spend about £80…

discount for unemployed
Good evening, I recently lost my job and have been advised not to work and to receive treatment, health first. I started to claim for benefits. Are there discounts / support for using buses and trains? I need to go to hospital appointments. Thank you.

Printing out form for Senior Railcard - to buy at station
Just that. There seem to be a lot of sites that suggest printing your form before going to the station (very sensible!) but I've not found one that provides a link. I know they must exist, but it seems I'm looking in the wrong places. A pdf that lets you input most of the info would be very acceptable but I don't mind…

London Underground question.
Basically next month I am going down to Wimbledon to see a show, now I'll be staying overnight in Watford to go the Universal Studios tour the next day. Sorry if this is a really daft question but does anyone know how much the cost is on the underground/overground for those two days. I haven't been on the Underground in…

Trainline - Where do I stand?
Hi all, I purchased 8 x advance single tickets (return - 4 x outbound and 4 x inbound) for a journey with Greater Anglia, from Norwich to Stratford on 09/01/2022. It's fair to say I've had some issues with the rail industry in recent months, which I've had to suck up and accept. But on this occasion, I'm unsure where I…

Getting a season ticket refund from Avanti
Hi - Happy New Year. I hope someone can help with some advice. Back in September, people were returning to the office, and I decided to buy an annual season ticket from London Euston to Milton Keynes Central. I bought the ticket online from the Avanti website. A few weeks later, I realised that I was not really going in as…
